We stopped here for lunch. We had never eaten at this establishment, but we wanted to see how the burgers were. The dining and ordering areas were clean. The cashier was friendly and informative when we asked questions about the menu. We ordered 2 burger meals with sides and a drink, along with a swiss and mushroom burger, no bun and steamed broccoli. Self-serve on the drinks, and we sat at a booth instead of a table. We received our burgers within 10 min. The two meals came with their fries. The fries were just ok. The burgers were also just ok, but the patties were super thin, so they somewhat got lost within the bun and lettuce/tomato. The patties did not have much flavor either. The swiss burger, no bun, the 2 patties were equally as thin, no seasoning. The swiss cheese and 4- 5 mushrooms I got were also not very flavorful. The steamed broccoli was very warm, but no seasonings and tasted like they were a frozen product not fresh. Very soft and mushy. This could be how they instructed to prepare the food so people can add their own seasoning? I'm not sure. We were offered condiments, mustard, ketchup, and ranch. Food temperature was good, everything hot since it was just prepared. Overall, I probably wouldn't go there for their burgers, but I'm not sure how their chicken sandwich selections are that they offer. Maybe I will just try their frozen custard selections...
Read moreWow!! This was a great surprise to find along our travels! Having lived in Wisconsin for over a decade, it's impossible to properly describe a Butter Burger to someone who's never had one. We came off the freeway for fuel and saw the Culver's here and I was so excited to see my husband get to try the Culver's experience, finally! I told him "A Better Brand Of Beef Makes A Butter Burger Better!" He agreed to give it a try. The staff were all extremely friendly, especially Susan, and the entire restaurant was IMPECCABLY clean. Everything was organized and truly spotless. Usually when we're traveling we are in a hurry and eat while driving (safely) but for this experience we sat in the parking lot and took a few extra minutes to eat our burgers.
The verdict: my husband who's traveled extensively while being in the military and post service, said it was definitely one of the BEST burgers he's ever had.
Good job Culver's! You impressed my teenagers when they went to visit family in Wisconsin last summer (Cross Plains, WI location) and now you've impressed my retired USMC husband.
I would absolutely recommend this location for anyone cruising this stretch of highway and looking for something to eat. Oh, and you can't leave without having a malt, that's kinda a rule. 😁 Last bit of advice: *My daughter thinks the pretzel bites are the best thing...
Read moreOrdered a kids meal for my toddler and the wait was over 20 minutes. When ordering the custard I asked for a “mix” for the kids meal and the person at the window misheard and put mint. I caught it and nicely told them that it was not supposed to be “mint” and instead a mix of the chocolate and vanilla custard which they have done for us before. The guy taking the order was very courteous and apologized for the mistake. However when another employee brought out the meal, the custard was the half chocolate and half vanilla I asked for but had a weird mint toothpaste looking substance poured over the top of it. I kindly told them that the custard was incorrect and asked for a different one that my toddler will actually eat. The employee asked for my receipt and pointed out that it was not corrected and still said “mint” on the receipt. I again apologized and said that I had corrected them when I ordered but it must have not been taken off of the order . The employee again argued with me and said “well that’s what’s on the receipt.” At this point I had a very upset toddler and baby in the back and told him I didn’t have time to argue and to forget it. If this is how customer service is then I definitely will not be returning. We have also never gotten the sauce we asked for any of the times we have been here. At this point do they even...
