This a small family owned restaurant with a few tables but great food and service. We wete craving falafels and ended up here on a hunch. Now with this review, you can go there with confidence. The restaurant is flexible in how we wanted falafel: wrap, wrap in pita or pocket pita. When we ate there, the owner Mahmoud gave us some extra sauce, Praveen provided fast service with anything we wanted and Mahmoud gave us a behind-the-scenes story and tour of the restaurant and their basement factory where they make their ingredients and falafel. The enthusiastic owner also gave us a taste of their dessert: A Date Doughnut - as it sounds, the doughnut is filled with dates! A fantastic delight! Never had such a doughnut before in my life. A must have! And, a brownie - initially I didn't think much about the brownie, until I tasted it! Boy! That brownie is also a treat to have. Just the right amount of sweetness I e. Less sweet and more chocolate, while being super soft. I am spreading the word to all my friends and family around DC to visit DC Falafel. Thanks to Mahmoud, Naseer and their team for a wonderful delight!

Incredible shawarmas!! I just picked up 2 chicken shawarmas (one pictured below) for dinner. The meat was tender and flavorful, the wrap tasted fresh and soft, and the sauces (I got the green sauce and the garlic sauce) were very flavorful. Also, I’d like to give a shout out to the wonderful Egyptian owners. They were present when I picked up my order and welcomed me warmly as if greeting a beloved family member. They even offered me a complimentary falafel (made fresh daily) and brownie, both of which were SO GOOD that I know I’ll have to come back to get more soon. Service was fast, and the staff who took my order and prepared the meal were very friendly as well. Looks like I’ve found my favorite neighborhood shawarma spot; I’ll be back!

This restaurant has a lot to offer, particularly the top-notch staff and the truly excellent chicken shawarma, which is fantastic with the green hot sauce. The fries are also perfectly crispy. On the downside, the bubble tea was not good and seemed overpriced at $9 with no choice in size. While the overall food and service were excellent, be prepared for a somewhat expensive experience; my bill for three, including a $7 tip, was $92.

Avoid at All Costs 🤮🤮🤮

If you’re considering eating at DC Falafel, save yourself the disappointment and go anywhere else. Seriously, these wraps taste like absolute garbage and are incredibly dry. No wonder they don’t have any customers at all.

The salad is pathetic, looking like it was thrown together by someone who couldn’t care less. As for the hummus, it’s utterly flavorless. I’ve had better hummus from a generic grocery store like Giant. To top it all off, I saw them using Toufayan pita bread, yet they shamelessly claim it’s ‘homemade.’ What a joke.

The staff here are unfriendly and seem like they’d rather be anywhere else. And the manager? He looks like he’s doing you a huge favor just by selling you this subpar food.

Do yourself a favor and head over to Falafel Inc. instead. They have the best falafel wraps and platters you’ll ever taste. Trust me, you’ll...
