Terrible experience at this lounge! Came to Washington DC for my sorority's convention and was highly disappointed. The "paint the town red" event that took place was substandard and down right inhumane. There is a back room that the event was being held in and when I tell you it was a sweat box! It didn't make any sense how hot it was in there. Especially considering the upstairs and outside downstairs areas of the building were cool. When I asked the staff could something be done, they said it was because there were a lot of us in there (I counted 25 people), that's not an excuse. I asked another staff, they said there was a fan in there ( the fan was the size of a box fan that your grandmother would have in her BEDROOM). I then asked another staff member what could be done. They said nothing. The owner was not answering then proceeded to tell me that there was an issue with a leak back there and that's why the air wasn't working. Now I'm not the smartest person but that sounds like some sort of fire hazard/ building violation to me. Simple critical thinking skills should've come into place as the staff/promoters. The simple simple solution would be to move the group into the downstairs space that was literally on the other side of the door. No other party was in that space and we would've been 100% more comfortable. It's unfortunate that no one cared enough to problem solve for us. We were not treated with care or concern. And as a business owner they should have understood when people are uncomfortable, they're not having a good time, when they're not having a good time, THEYRE NOT SPENDING MONEY! Won't be back and have nothing good to say about this establishment and will never attend any event...

This place is one of those places that you can call "Old School, and Laid Back". "Great Black-owned Establishment". "Delivers on all-levels of what makes a Restaurant GREAT". We were having a bad start to the night, because BUDDY'S DC gave away our table. We didn't have any other places to go, so we went to this place. Starting with the customer service immediately when me and my party walked in- we were instantly greeted, and shortly seated. We started off by ordering the Rasta Fries (added chicken and crab). WHEN I TELL YOU GOOD! That's an understatement! Me and the guys were mentally fighting for seconds among ourselves. I proceeded to order the Salmon chicken nuggets. I let the guys taste it too, and again we all agreed that it was "BUSSING". Eventually I bought a Caesar salad, and it was really A+, given that the dressing was tossed on the salad. Not many people know about that trick! The Chicken Sandwich and fries could give Chick-fil-A "a run for their money". The sandwich was cooked perfectly, and it was waving outside its bun. It came with some mumbo sauce too- that tasted like sweet chilli sauce. I really enjoyed everything, and me and my party will definitely be back if we live to see it. Thanks for such an amazing experience, Reign Restaurant! You guys were able to change the entire projectory of our night!

I heard about this place from IG and decided to take my bf for his birthday. We went on a Friday for happy hour.

Firstly, the food and ambiance is hands down a 10/10! As a foodie, I highly recommend!

Honest feedback… mixed feelings?

My ONLY complaint is the overall, bizarre customer service experience we had. I made a reservation and arrived on time, only to be greeted by someone who was not an employee but a customer. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time but I think they had just opened shortly before we arrived. The bar was pretty full with 1 bartender.

An employee did finally come by to seat us and give us menus. He was nice and energetic. The customer who greeted us strangely ended up being our server for the remainder of our experience. Once seated at the table, the wait time for food & drinks was kind of long and we had to remind the server (non employee) about bringing us our items.

Long story short…. Food was a 10/10 I would definitely recommend. I do want to revisit, just maybe with a little more time behind it.

And…Hopefully ya’ll hired the customer that was our server! She was pretty amazing! 4 stars because she made the overall experience...
