The Greek Spot offers a wide array of good-tasting menu options, but the food quality doesn't justify the higher-than-average prices.
That's not to say that the Greek Spot is bad. In fact, I thought it was quite good! The vegetables tasted fresh, the seasoning on the fries was fantastic, and the meat was well-seasoned and tender. Food was ready quickly and the staff were responsive and knowledgeable about menu questions. There is adequate seating available- I won't say plentiful (I went at a time that was pretty slow), but outdoor seating and indoor seating for pairs or very small groups is available.
The portions were less than I expected from the cost. Having read other reviews I was expecting a full tray of fries and a bursting full pita, but got neither. The fries, which were fantastic, went quickly, and the only moderately-full pita left me wanting something more to eat (I'm usually a pretty light lunch-eater!). The less-than-generous portions combined with the slightly above-average cost for most of the menu options make it unlikely that this Greek Spot will become my go-to Greek spot.
If you're looking for something a bit more out of the way and are willing to spend a few dollars extra for lunch, the Greek Spot is likely to satisfy, but not dazzle you with an appealing location, common menu options, and maybe you will, maybe you...
Read moreI got the side sampler and the lamb and beef gyro. I'm so happy. Side sampler included tzatziki, hommos, a couple bars of cheese, spicy feta, a chickpea salad, and dolmas! Great deal and delicious, The only reason I dock a star is bc it did not include olives (well, it had three individual olives) which are listed on the online description as well as the ordering app I use. I can't eat too much chickpea stuff so would've preferred olives over the chickpea salad... All the pros outweight this one misstep though! I recently got Greek from a restaurant owned by a Michelin star chef... Was thoroughly unimpressed. Tiny container of one of these sides for just a few dollars less than Greek Spot's beautiful spread, and it was inedible. I was very impressed with the quality and portion size. Came with extra side of pita.
I also got the lamb and beef gyro with feta sauce, so nice and hefty. I really enjoyed the feta sauce. Generous on the feta. Again, fantastic value and portion.
I got this a few days ago and I am STILL finishing...
Read moreFirst off the service was amazing, one of the best Gyro's I've had since I moved to the DMV. I like the meat to hit the flat top for a minute or two before assembly and they alsp put the pita on longer(which I didn't ask for but man am I glad they did) As someone who has been eating them since birth, I found it so good I was dancing on the sidewalk. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the cheese pie or Tiropita was good but the oil they had used was no longer good. It tasted like it had turned and left a stale oil flavor almost rotten, that I couldn't get past. Sorry to say I ate half and had to toss the rest. But I will say this. Most places do not carry it because so many Americans do not know what it is and they are missing out. ( please do not take it off of the Menu, I'll be making a monthly trip just for it) Like you know what Spanakopita is but not the better cheese version. But I will be back for sure. I need to try more...
