Here's the deal, if I have to tell you that pretty much any Waffle House will blow away any IHOP or Denny's then, you probably think In and Out is better than Whataburger or Griff's and you probably put ketchup on your steak. This just goes without saying. That being said, the food was everything you would expect from Waffle House. It is southern diner style food based mainly around breakfast all day and night. The wife is actually the reason we went this evening and that is just one of the many reasons I married her. She got the good old All Star Breakfast with crispy bacon, eggs scrambled, hashbrowns, a classic waffle and subbed her bread for a biscuit and added gravy. All of it was excellent. Good ole Waffle House breakfast, with everything cooked perfectly. I got the T-bone and eggs with crispy hashbrown and steak cooked medium along with my over medium eggs and buttered white toast. Again, nothing short of a home run for the cook on this one as well. Is it Texas Roadhouse...NO. Was it a good steak and eggs meal for dinner, this time before the bar instead of after it, hell yes it was. No complaints here. Seasoned well and cooked even better. Came out with a stripe of pink along with my crispy hashbrowns that were so crispy that my wife did that thing where she hints that "That's how I like mine too" which means, gimme your food, we're swapping. Over medium eggs were perfect. Not too runny but not over done at all. Great for sopping up with the steak and toast. I'll tell you, we went for the food but the service was equally if not more so, just outstanding. We were there Friday night 2/25 and everybody was great. We've all seen the memes of the people you can expect to show up to a Waffle House but this one is right in between an older neighborhood and a upscale neighborhood and everybody comes in and is just happy. One family came in and it was the mother's birthday and she was excited to be there. The staff seemed just as excited to see her and before you knew it the music was playing and they were singing and we were singing and for a moment we were all family at the Waffle House in Watauga. Definitely worth a stop for an awesome fresh waffle and food as well as some exceptional staff and service. We will for...
Read moreIt was a late night heading home and IHOP was rude out in Decatur and after 15mins didn’t acknowledge us. We headed to IHOP closer to home and it was closed. Waffle House has been a favorite of my husbands since he was a kid so we decided to take the family to try it out after working at the ranch all day.
First impression was ok. Lots of dirty tables but it appeared they had several people who recently left. Ollie was our waitress, she greeted us, and was EXCELLENT! She had a great personality and apologized for the dirty tables. While sitting we noticed an OBNOXIOUS group of teens crammed into a booth. While I know kids will be kids….show you’re drunk/stoned without saying it was the attitude of this table.
As we got our food and continued to eat, the other two working began to be just as obnoxious. They were ignoring others in the restaurant. They were making rude comments about customers. They completely ignored a couple that walked in. Ollie even said something to the effect of “are you going to talk to them? Get their order?” To which the heavy set male YELLED across the entire restaurant “yo, y’all want some waffles?” And then laughed and ignored them as he proceeded to be obnoxious with the teens.
Ollie apologized for that action as well and took care of them.
The food was good and Ollie was GREAT….however the atmosphere left a lot to be desired and the other employees made it not worth the experience to come back any time soon.
I hope management really does look at the camera as their sign states and sees how poorly their staff is doing to value...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of visiting his waffle House on more than one occasion. The most important thing to me in the world is customer service when I walk into this waffle House or when anyone walks into this waffle House. Not only are you greeted with a smile, but you're also greeted with a hello. Good morning, good evening. Good afternoon depending on the time of day. If I'm having a bad day and I walk in and hear such a warm welcome, it can be comforting. I would like to say that Jamie. Melissa and sherita and all staff members at work. There are wonderful people persons and they're very diverse. Aside for the excellent customer service, they are very professional and polite and the food is not bad at all. I do recommend you stop and have breakfast there. I've also had the pleasure of stopping at the waffle House in North Richland Hills near medical City Hospital in North Richland Hills. I do have to say that they're welcome was not warm that their customers were sweeter than the staff. At that time that I went for a visit, they were the closest waffle House near me because their customer service could have been better. I immediately left and went to the waffle House in watuga. Which I now consider my waffle House. I want people to understand that in these days a friendly smile, a good gesture. An excellent customer service goes a long way not only for your business, but not knowing what people are going through in their daily lives. That one friendly smile can be the difference between a horrible and hurtful day. Or hey my day is not...
