So I stopped by this place on my lunch break from a nearby pet sit. I didn't have much time, which is why I ordered ahead. Definitely one of the best tortas that I've eaten. I ordered the chicken torta which was delicious. Was surprised to see a slice of ham on it though. So that might be an issue for people who don't eat pork. The refried bean flavor and quality was excellent. The fries were hot and fresh.
My only complaint (mostly a pet peeve) is that when I walked into the establishment, it took a while to get acknowledged.
I did see a podium at the front where a hostess would normally stay on, but no one was there.
I just wanted to get the attention of the people for the pickup order that I had already placed.
It was still being worked on, so I would have had to wait anyways but I was still annoyed to have been standing there with no one seeing me.
After I brought it to someone's attention, things with smoothly. My food arrived shortly after, by a friendly staff.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, I did stop by during the lunch hour so maybe they were busy with other orders(although there weren't that many people in the restaurant at the time).
In any case, I will be back. The food was delicious and filling. I could only eat half of the torta after eating the fries. It was a good meal to keep me fueled up for the rest of my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCart before the horse is an expression that comes to mind to describe my first experience with Mad Mexican Grill. Though it took a little time to get a server at my table, he took my drink order and then my appetizer order, which was a double scoop of guacamole. He brought the guacamole absent any chips. Presentation was nice, but something was out of sync with their staff.
That is, I had to ask for chips to go along with my guacamole, which oddly enough arrived later in my appetizer course via a different employee. I had already nibbled on my guacamole by the time they arrived.
For the main course, I chose the enchiladas plate with no cheese and the tomatillo sauce on the side. The plate that the server brought to my table contained enchiladas prepared with cheese and tomatillo sauce on the enchiladas as if what I asked for never happened. The server seemed to want me to accept the enchiladas as is when I politely reminded him that I wanted no cheese on them.
I did enjoy the enchiladas with rice and beans. The guacamole was good, too. In the end, the food spared this review a dismal rating. Service needs to be better coordinated, including timing. The server perhaps needs training in paying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely push out a 5 stars but Mad Mexican Grill certainly deserves this one tonight. Located in strip center and sliced between Kroger and Sherwin Williams in Keller it's easy to miss. Even though it's small there is good seating for dining and bar area . Diana had the chicken soup, I went with the Brisket Torta we were served chips and salsa to start out with Salsa was on point chips were thick and crispy a good start. Our drinks the Cadillac Margarita and Dos Xx the Margarita was perfect with a little kick. My Brisket torta was the best torta I've had period the meat was moist and tender every bite was pure throat ecstacy the bolillo bread was soo good soft and sweet blended so well with the Brisket which was served with crinkle cut fries. Diana had to help me finish as I needed room for dessert. We choose the churros OMG so good again best I've had in this area hands down served piping hot with vanilla ice creme and a Carmel like feeling talk about warm and fuzzy feelings what a finish. Our Server Justin provided great service and was helpful for us 1st timers. We will definitely be back and recommend to our...
