New Moon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Waterbury

Just moved to a new area in CT and was hoping to find a great Chinese food place! Overall, good quality and the proportions are fair. The price isn't horrible. I was just eating the shrimp fried rice w/no onions and I got bean sprouts instead. What I'm holding may look like a bean sprout, but it's a long piece of white plastic! I pulled it out and searched through my rice and found about 13-15 other pieces??? Could have choked. Unfortunately will not be returning. If it was one piece, I get it, things happen... but when there's over 10 white plastic pieces... I just had to throw out the entire container because I kept finding them. Very unfortunate. Honestly ruined the meal for me. And delivery takes over an hour to get to us which also kinda stinks. Off to find a better place. Wish I could get a refund for this because it's honestly unacceptable. And the egg rolls this time were stale and greasy I took one bite and tossed it. My husband said his meal was not good this time either and threw it out. $50 wasted. Please open your packages with care because I don't want anyone else to have plastic pieces...

This was always our favorite take out Chinese between Waterbury and surrounding towns. No other New Moon location in the area or other Chinese takeout could compare to the tasty general tsaos, crab Rangoon, fried rice, and other food. When we got takeout about 6 months ago, it was still the same excellent food. We got it twice in the last few weeks and it has been subpar. They changed the general tsaos to the point my husband was disgusted of the taste to where he had to go drink something to get the taste out. The crab Rangoon weeks ago was not the same quality and taste, nor is the fried rice good. I know they raised their prices, as did everyone else due to increased cost. I would rather pay just a little extra for the same quality food rather than pay a higher cost and get Chinese food no better than the other take out Chinese in the area. We're highly disappointed. Ordered about $50 worth of food with the beyondmenu app. This restaurant refused to deliver to my apartment, they didn't contact me directly, a rep from the app called and said they refuse to deliver to my area which is total bu*t. This place is in waterbury and I live in waterbury about 3 miles from new moon. So I thought that wasn't right. It wasn't to late or to close to the time they closed and it didn't say anything on their site about not delivering to certain areas. We order in usually friday, saturday and Sunday because I get home later from work those days and have work very early saturday and sunday mornings. I have seen other menus where they state they won't deliver to naugatuck or other areas for whatever reason but I was pretty annoyed and since my address won't be changing any time soon it appears that New Moon lost a potential regular customer.
