Our first time stopping by on Sunday, March 9 was a joy. Keean (sp?) was behind the bar and welcoming and friendly as could be. The atmosphere is purposely unique to the area to set it apart. Clean white walls with pink and turquoise pieces of furniture. They also specialize in less common beers, those that are lower ABV, and not a hint of Citra or Mosaic hops to be found. What a nice a change! If I could only recommend one beer, it would be Fizz, the pineapple and habanero sour. Tastes so good, great balance of sweet and spicy, super refreshing. It’s a block off the beaten path but well worth the extra minute to get there.

I especially liked the Hanalei (coconut blonde ale) and the Fizz (Ginger & Curtis sour). Clean, bright location right in downtown Waterbury. Friendly & quick service. I got chips and salsa just to snack on, but there's a while good menu of tacos. Great addition to the Vermont food & beer scene!

Our first (but definitely not last) visit was awesome! Our beertender Cian was friendly, helpful and a wonderful host! The beer was fantastic with lots of styles to choose from. We had 6 5 oz pours in order to try as much as we could. Don’t miss stopping in if you’re in the area!!

I had a private event at the Tropic over a busy weekend in town, and it was an absolutely perfect venue for my event. Matt, the owner, was incredible at helping me set up the event; he is personable, engaging, and flexible, and worked closely with me to make sure he could provide what I needed to have a successful evening. The space is incredibly open and light, and fit all of my guests comfortably. The service was top-notch, and the beer, wine, NA drinks, and snack selection they have is comprehensive and tasty. I would very readily host another event at the Tropic, as well as to continue to stop in for drinks. Would highly recommend to anyone coming...

Perfect timing during our annual VT vacation was able to check out this newly opened brewery. The Tropic has fantastic beers and everything is a reasonable ABV. Amazing flavors and complexity without being overwhelmed by 'boozy.' The Dark ale (Oscuro) has that wonderful roasty/toasty flavor without being heavy. Matt is very friendly and has a good sense of style. It was great enjoying some beers and chatting about future plans. Very much looking forward to next year's trip....
