Everything that came off that smoker was delicious. Everything was flavorful, and juicy. Rib bones pulled easily out of the meat, clean as a whistle. Living in Texas really spoiled me for good BBQ, and that smoked chicken was some of, if not, THE BEST smoked chicken I’d ever eaten. Pulled pork was delicious, and I’d love to see it paired with a Notth Carolina vinegar style sauce. The house sauce was good, but I preferred the Brown Mustard BBQ sauce. We had “The Back 40” as an appetizer, and I liked it, but would’ve like it better with one of their own sauces instead of Sweet Baby Rays. The sausage link is a HEALTHY portion. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of their sides. The collards were dry (no pot liquor at all) and maybe they’re better later in the day (I was there around 2pm), but they were still tough. More vinegar flavor than anything else, which was kind of a bummer. The coleslaw was good, but a creamy slaw would be more preferable, instead of a vinegar base. My boyfriend had the Mac and cheese, and it looked good and creamy. I didn’t try the cornbread, but it looked good, too. All in all, the place was clean and tidy. Staff was very friendly, and service was quick. I’d also love to see Sweet Tea as an option for beverage, but that’s just the souther gal in me. We will definitely be ordering some...
Read moreWas pretty excited about the opening of this BBQ. Been watching them cooking in the parking lot for a long time.
So, we ordered the 'I want it all' dinner to go, for a good sampling of the BBQ.
Disappointed in the BBQ and the sides as well. Overall, the meats are more like grilled than smoked, simply not enough smoke flavor for me. All meats are tender and well cooked, the ribs are fall off the bone, too much fall off for me, makes me think they might have been par boiled before going on the grill. And alas, not nearly enough smoke.
Pulled pork has way too much BBQ sauce for me, and also, subtle smoke flavor at best.
Same with the chicken and sausage, look great, cooked well, light on smoke; again more like grilled than smoked BBQ.
Sides are small and unremarkable, corn bread a little dry, mac and cheese light on cheese, cole slaw is spicy, but not flavorful.
Overall, OK grilled food, if you are not looking for smokiness, you may be happy. For me, not nearly enough BBQ...
Read moreIf you love BBQ like I do, this is the place you want to go! The first time I ate here, was last year and the smell of smoking meat was wafting into the street… it smelled so good we had to turn around! They were smoking in the parking lot then and only had take away…but I was so excited to see they now have indoor dining! Denise and the staff are so nice and food was brought to our table quickly after we ordered.
Reading the menu, my brain wanted one of everything, but I settled on the bbq pork nachos and jalapeño corn bread. They were just as incredible as the Timber sandwich, that my dad got, along with the potato salad and bacon wrapped jalapeños! Note: I had enough pork and toppings on my nachos to take home and I will be able to make two more sandwiches for lunch this week!
I personally think this is the best BBQ I have had anywhere in Macomb and Oakland Counties! I plan on making the 45 minute drive from time to time to bring food home...
