I actually went to Rudy’s Tacos two days in a row. The first day we sat outside and had drinks (good Margaritas), chips and fresh salsa, guacamole and some queso. Everyone loved their food: I like the Sancho.
The next day a group of family sat inside. Good selection of local beers. Everyone enjoyed their meals: burrito, sancho, taco salad, chimichangas. All food was hot, fresh and delicious.
Now, we returned to Rudy’s 08/14/25. Basically, it is not the Rudy’s we remember. Their signature salsa is no longer. Now the salsa is too chunky with less flavor. Twin chimi and beans and rice was ordered. The beans were cold, white clumps: they were almost inedible. The chimi should have crisp but they were covered with red sauce, rendering the plate mushy. (When my husband doesn’t clean his plate, that is b/c the food isn’t optimal.). The burrito and sancho had so much yellow cheese on both that I had to remove the cheese. Both the burrito and sancho lacked flavor. The service in the Beer Hall and the restaurant was excellent. However, you must get the attention of the bartender in the Lava Lounge to obtain a drink. We missed a regular worker there who we really liked and he did such a nice job. I missed the posting of local purveyors’ products, like Hoffmann vegetables, Hansen’s, etc. So it appears Rudy’s is no longer using local products. We were quite disappointed. Food this time, 1 star, Service 5 star,...
Read moreFirst time I went i was satisfied with service and food. The second, and probably last, time not so much. I live maybe 3 minutes away. First time I place a to go order they said 15 minutes. I waited 10 , when I got there food was waiting and they were kind of busy, I was impressed. The second time I place a to go order they said 15 minutes. Again I waited 10 minutes before leaving. When I got their the host said the cook was finishing up my order. Place was empty no one seated or waiting. A couple walked in placed their order, mind you I'm still waiting for my order. I waited another 10 minutes they got their order and mine STILL WASN'T done. After waiting and additional 15 minutes I finally got my food. When I got home all the food was cold, again , I live 3 minutes away. They claim to be authentic Mexican food. Never knew any Mexican food cooked in a microwave. I was 100% not happy the second time, besides the cold food they are WAY over priced. $51 to feed 2 people is outrages and the food isnt worth $51. I will never step foot in that place again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. Taco Johnson is much better food and much more affordable. I would rate that place a 0 but it...
Read moreLife long customer here and I’m pretty sad to say I’m bummed. Rudy/manager has always been a bit of a grouch but my goodness. I think he’s had enough customer service. They only give out straws for kids for some reason (it’s not giving a “go green” vibe either?? Seems more like he’s become stingy) and I had to tell the waitress that my mom needed one or else she gets hives on her lips from the ice, to which she kindly gave me one. The food was fine, lacking in flavor as usual, but it’s still as expected. However… the prices have been INSANELY jacked. I know the economy is trash right now, but the fact it cost $80 for us to eat is absolutely insane. I was hesitant to even ask for a refill because of how stingy everything else seemed. On top of that, be prepared to sweat your butt off while you eat. Just sitting there eating our tacos we got so sweaty. It had to have been 76+ degrees in there, even with the ceiling fans going. Also, a side of sour cream was a whopping dollar for a tiny cup! The waitresses/girls behind the bar were so sweet - but you can tell they keep their distance from him…...
