Salt and Honey Bistro — Restaurant in Waterloo

My husband and I decided to try out this new Waterloo bistro today for a late lunch and we couldn't have been happier. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, the whole staff was amazingly friendly and also gave great suggestions on a drink to try (peach iced tea special) and it was so delicious and perfectly refreshing for this summer day. My husband got The Ozzy sandwich and it was delicious! I got the pick two with a sandwich and the Salt + Honey spinach salad. The salad was great and even my "not-so green loving husband" said that the spinach salad was one that he would happily order and eat. Everything we had was fresh, delicious, and definitely kept us talking about the food even after we left. Overall 11/10 for this local bistro. It's a great addition to Waterloo and we will continue to go back again and again to try more...

Highly recommend. Can’t wait to have a moms meet up here. Wonderful space with options on how you want your coffee break, lunch, or play date to feel. We came for a decaf and oatmeal breakfast and to play in the children’s play area. I was able to have a quiet breakfast to myself while my son played in a low stimulation environment (thank heavens no tv!)! Couldn’t be more excited to have easy access to a perfect morning or afternoon out.

They have plenty of options for coffee and milk alternatives (woo oat milk for my nursing mamas) along with the right amount of options for snacks and meals. I appreciated the toppings available for the oatmeal and the allowance to withhold the additional sugar.

Well, what a great way to start the day! This spot has an adorable, welcoming, and comfortable vibe. The coffee was on point—I had a caramel cold brew that was sweeter than I expected but full of flavor. I also tried a biscuit sandwich with shaved ham, a fried egg, jam, and cheddar cheese. It was perfectly portioned, and the biscuit itself was fluffy and buttery—just right.

The space itself is incredible! Private banquet space available. Just adorable!
