I found this cafe accidentally and it changed my life. Not exaggerating. I have not seen another cafe in Boston that puts as much love and creativity into drinks/pastries as O’Some. Also, they have gluten free scones that are AMAZING!!
I was diagnosed with celiac earlier last year and was struggling to find a gluten free bakery that made more than vanilla cupcakes or chocolate chip cookies. The first time I visited O’Some, they had mixed berry gluten free scones. I was pumped. I kept going back and asking about the scones and they started to make them more regularly and with more flavors. I’ve been going to O’Some every week for a few months now and have had ube, cinnamon, yuzu, coconut, banana foster, ginger, rum raisin, mochi, chocolate, cheddar and MANGO scones! NO ONE ELSE DOES THIS FOR GLUTEN FREE PEOPLE! It’s one thing to have gluten free option — it’s another to regularly update and experiment with it. I love it!! I get so excited going in every time because I never know what recipe they’ve come up with that day — but I know it’ll be delicious.
I also have to mention their glutenous pastries and drinks. I can’t eat them but they always smell and look amazing. I’ve been told they taste scrumptious too! I can personally vouch for the drinks. My personal favorites are the yuzu espresso soda and tiger brown latte. They have special drinks every season too! The iced lavender and matcha drink tastes like a fragrant garden. I...
Read moreI've been looking for a good scone, so O'Some Cafe has been on my list, especially since they have some unique flavors.
There was plenty of metered parking. The inside is small, so expect to take things to go. I got the salted toffee latte, onion/mushroom/parmesan (?) scone, and yuzu pound cake. Salted toffee latte: I was disappointed with this because I didn't taste any of the salted toffee, so I pretty much paid for an overpriced hot coffee. I probably should have gone with the matcha strawberry recommendation, but that drink only comes iced, and I wanted something to warm me up at the time. Onion/mushroom/parmesan scone: The flavors were subtle, but the scone overall was ok. I liked how moist it was, but I think it would taste better warm. I wouldn't say it was the best scone I've had, but I'd be interested in trying a sweet one next time. Yuzu pound cake: This was my favorite item that I ordered. The yuzu flavor was prominent throughout the pound cake, and the glaze on top was the perfect amount of sweetness. The pound cake was also moist.
The workers were busy prepping the holiday boxes, but they were both very nice. I'll attribute the latte miss due to the distractedness and would be open to trying something else if I come back since the pictures of their drinks...

Recently dropped by and tried their Black Sesame Latte and Dalgona Latte. Both were great. The black sesame latte had a mellow, nutty sweetness that lingered pleasantly. The Dalgona latte felt more like a creamy dalgona milk, without being cloying. No weird dalgona chunks, no bitterness—just smooth, nostalgic comfort (at least for me who grew up eating these in elementary school). They also had some house-baked desserts on display. I grabbed a Vanilla Madeleine fresh out of the oven, and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while—crispy edges, soft and pillowy center, subtly sweet. They also offer chiffon cakes, though those require a two-day preorder (was told that they might randomly have it on some days). Definitely planning to come back...
