I called and asked to order a gyros, pronounced it as yee-hros, the guy who answered the phone said they sell them there. I understand we all seem to pronounce the word differently, but I'd imagine someone working there had heard it pronounced multiple ways so I was surprised when I was told they didn't sell them. After going back to google and reading reviews of their gyros I decided to call again, the same guy answered, and i asked the exact same question, this time he corrected me on my pronunciation and said they're pronounced as g-rows. Either way, when someone calls to order food and you have something that's pronounced in multiple ways by different people, you should know whether you sell them or not lmao. Ok, onto the actual food! I was very in the mood for a gyros, so reading the reviews was making me even more hungry for them as this place seemed to have great reviews. So after arriving home i anxiously awaited diving into this. I ordered a gyros sandwich, too be clear, they have a dinner and a sandwich available. If you like gyros from the fair, gyros from most other restaurants, gyros from anywhere really, i would be surprised if you liked these gyros. The bread was great, the meat was great, the onions were soggy, and quite frankly almost made me throw up. The tomatoes i received were 2 slices of a whole tomato, not diced to spread across the sandwich, which probably wouldn't have been an issue if I could've folded it in half, but that wasn't possible until i removed the disgusting huge pile of nasty onions. And last but not least, if you decide to get adventurous and try one, make sure to ask for extra sauce. I asked for some and they said it was on it already so i took their word and left. I wish I'd have stood my ground and insisted on getting some extra as it may have covered up the grotesque flavor of the soggy onions that i removed. Good luck! Never going there again for food. Perhaps their pizza is better, but...
Read moreI have been an avid Phils Gyro person for the last 15 years but after today I will never again order from them or give them my business. They have been delivering to me at my new address for the last 9 months and when I called to order tonight I placed my order wrote my check out and got a phone call back about a minute later saying that I was outside the city limits and they won't deliver to me..... Walmart is literally across the street from me not to mention they have already been delivering to me for the last 9 months! I told her this same information she then tells someone in the back round who yells out NO I'M NOT DOING IT! I then asked to talk to this person who again says I've already told her NO.... really??? I then repeated to her that they have been delivering to me for the last 9 months at this address and that if it wasn't an area they deliver to then why did they not tell me that from the get go? and she said look tonight we are busy and you always call and order when we are busy...... hmmm pretty sure as a customer I have that right! And I told her that I have waited over an hour sometimes for my food and have never cared or complained because it is expected when you order delivery from them that it can take some time. She continued to yell and me and eventually hung up on me! Never again, I will go out of my way to find another place that treats their...
Read moreIf I could give a negative review I would...and we didn't even dine here. My family and I walked in and asked an approximate time when food could be ready. We were quickly told 30 minutes( which we understand, it's a Saturday night) but with a little bit of an attitude. My husband who just wanted to ask if that included sandwiches, because they have gyros on a spit, yes and if we didn't want to wait we should try McDonald's. The food may be good, but customer service is not a strong suit in our 2 minute encounter. I also did not appreciate the negativity being spoken as we were walking out in front of my children. I have 20+ years in food service so I understand, but that was definitely uncalled for, especially in a time too many small businesses are...
