Had the most awful experience with Pizza Roma today. Ordered a meatball sub and took it to go to eat at work. 2 bites in, I bit into something hard. At first I thought it must have been an errant bone in the meat. I was astounded to pull a 3/4" screw out of my mouth. This should NEVER happen, but sometimes things do. I've owned a small business and did not want to cause any unnecessary problems for a local restaurant. I did not plan to make a big deal out of it, but I returned to the store for 2 things 1) my money back (not unreasonable) and 2) more importantly - to make them aware of the issue in case there was another one in a pot of meatballs that might injure someone. To my shock, not only did he (owner?) not care at all, he immediately starting yelling at me an accusing me of planting it! He got in my face and said he was going to call the police. At that point, I walked away from him and out of the store and called the police myself. And the Board of Health. Neither of which needed to happen had he talked to me and showed any level of concern at all. For the record, and before he responds here, his "proof" of me planting it was watching me walking around to the passenger side of my car, right in front of his business, and take out the sandwich, which was still in the cardboard container. I had placed the screw, which came out of my mouth, onto the container and when I pulled it out of the car I reached into the container to pick out the screw. WHY would I ever think to do something like this? And if so inclined, for whatever demented reason, would I do so right outside his front window? Insane. My suggestion to him? This was a 3/4", self-tapping sheet metal screw. You might want to stop blaming your customers and inspect the metal work around your hood, etc., before someone gets...
Read moreSadly, the pizza is no longer the same since Joe retired. He used to make the most amazing pizza, and I would so look forward to having it every time I'd come back to the area to visit. Furthermore, the price was incredibly reasonable. The only slight drawback I could imagine for some was that Joe didn't exactly have the friendliest demeanor, was a bit on the gruff and matter of fact side of things, but with such wonderful pizza at reasonable prices who cares. (Previous rating was five stars.) It seems that a new owner came in some months ago and so the prices jumped by about 25%. The one time I had the pizza (large pepperoni), it was still okay but just not quite as good. Apparently now in February 2024 ownership has again changed. The new people seem nice and are quite friendly but regrettably the pizza was disappointing for me: most importantly the bottom was overcooked, even burnt, the edges/crust seem extra wide for no reason especially since they're not tasty enough to be worth eating on their own, and the pepperoni ratio really wasn't great. (By the way, they use really large pepperoni.) I guess all good things must come to an end. We'll miss you Joe. Thanks for all the years of absolutely...
Read moresave your money on this place, its under new ownership. this dude Ed lol. Joe obviously isnt running it anymore. his pizza maker Bobby "cooks" your pizza at a high temp and barely leaves it in. theyre spending maybe 5 minutes total on each pizza and the result really reflects that. it's basically pizza soup, and when you pick up a slice everything just slides off. youre met with a green/grey piece of raw dough with a soggy black bottom.
the old owner, Joe, was awesome. been going here for 20+ years, since i was a kid. under new ownership they have absolutely tarnished their reputation. Ed is rude and the pizza is completely disgusting. no doubt in the world the worst pizza ive ever seen. wasnt cooked at all, and when i brought it back he didn't follow health codes. just threw our raw flatbread pizza back into the oven for two minutes and all he did was burn the crust and hand it back. the whole time he was very sharp and insulting.
the picture is taken right before we took it back. it was supposed to be pepperoni, onion, and green pepper. they had the audacity to tell us we ordered it wrong. is that worth $15-20 to you? nah go to...
