A couple days after Christmas, Paul came over to fix my Maytag gas range that I was too afraid to work on. It had a delayed ignition that filled the oven with gas and then igniting, which caused the door to open a little and make a not nice sound.
We looked at buying a new stove and with Christmas deals coming in at $400-500 with $180 installation price, $40 new gas line and then $20 for old gas range removal the price skyrocketed up to $600-700 dollars. I figured a professional could definitely figure this out for cheaper and still have a stove we like and not some super cheap stuff on sale.
Paul arrive 10 minutes into the range of time he gave us he would be, which was great. He went through the process to figure out the issue and found that the igniter wasn't outputting the correct voltage, which makes it not get hot enough to ignite the gas.
He cleaned up all this work and put everything back the way he found it. He was also very nice and personable. He also did this in under an hour. He also gave us tips for how to properly use and diagnose issues with our other appliances if we see them in the future.
The service price was fairly standard for what I know from asking around. It was more than half the price of buying a brand new stove and I shouldn't have any issues for 3-5 years at the rate my family uses the oven. Next time, I will know what the problem is and...
Read morePaul is committed to providing great and timely service. Our oven stopped working and our landlord called a number of repair shops to service it. No provider except Paul even called him back. On the day of our appointment, Paul arrived within the specified service window and completed the repair quickly. We were in the unfortunate situation that our refrigerator motor also died shortly before he arrived. He did not have time to repair it that day, so he quickly diagnosed the likely problem and took a picture of the model number to be certain he would have the part when he returned the next day. The following day, he also arrived within the specified window and worked quickly to replace the motor. In another unfortunate turn of events, the motor turned out to be a lemon. While no one wishes to experience this, it is an undeniable fact that it does happen on occasion. I called Paul early the next morning to report our problem and he scheduled a return visit for that afternoon. Despite a medical emergency that interfered with his return, he communicated clearly and promptly with us about his changing schedule and returned to replace the malfunctioning motor at the earliest possible time. We are surprised and grateful for his dedication above and beyond the reasonable expectations of customer service. Our refrigerator is now functioning properly and we are highly...
Read moreVery happy. Paul came out to my house to fix our sub-zero refrigerator which had a blocked drain hose causing a constant ice buildup. Not only was Paul quick to respond, efficient at fixing the issue, but he was also very pleasant to talk to and he shared a wealth of knowledge of how these appliances really work - simple things that I wish I had known years ago.
While he was here, he also looked at my Samsung front loading washer (which kicked the bed this past weekend) and my Thermadore gas stove's 5th burner (which hasn't lit in about 9 years). Again, Paul shared his knowledge: why the washer is not worth fixing and why it's better to replace completely (and he gave me great recommendations on what to get), and why the stove could be a simple fix, but only after a not so simple, invasive and expensive process of getting to the piece that needs fixing. Paul's advice - you've lived fine with 4 working burners... you'll be fine continue living without the 5th and saving $2,000.
Pricing for the fridge repair was very reasonable; the wealth of knowledge on all my appliances was priceless. I hope to not need any future appliance repairs, but when I do, I'll be...
