I've known the owners, Coach Parsons and Mrs. Parsons, for a long time, and there are no better people on this earth then them and their Family. They are great people who care about others and care about doing the right thing. They care about young people and their community. They are amaizing Parents raising strong, intelligent, hard working children. They are giving people, They are friendly, welcoming, honest, hard working people. Coach has always looked out for me since I was young boy, and has always been good to my family. This alone should make you want to support Bolley's, but if that's not enough for you let's discuss the restaurant and the food. Ive been going to Bolley's since I was a young man, long before Coach and and Mrs. Parson owned the restaurant. I can tell you right now that their franks are as good if not better then the ones served up in the 1900's. They have the perfect amount of crisp to them, they are cooked just the right amount, and the onions are better then in the 1990's. The buns are fantastic, and the ketchup is of the highest quality. I'm the kind of guy who gets the same thing everytime, so I really need to try some other things so that I can comment on those as well, but I'm confident everything served here is top notch. The cleanliness of the restaurant is by far, let me repeat, by far leaps and bounds above the cleanliness of the previous owners. That was always something that kept me from being a regular with the previous owners. I'm a germaphobe and I feel 100% comfortable being there and eating my food. Lack of Cleanliness keeps me from returning to many establishments. Not the case anymore with Bolley's, which is such a relief. They are prompt with making your order, which again deterred me from being a regular in the 1990's early 2000's under the old regime. No more being harrassed by the fry guy, and feeling like you have to banter back and forth with him just to not feel dumb. It's a classy place now. It has a family atmosphere now. Its 120% a better experience. Now let's discuss the French frys. I went in there todays cautious of the fries because of all the publicity (negative publicity) they got in the news over changing the style of fry. Who ever was unhappy about the new cut of frys, obviously doesn't know French fries. French fries have been a staple in my diet as long as I can remember. Anyone who knows me, knows I love French fries. The new cut of fries are way way way better then the old ones. The old fries under the old management were nothing to write home about. Half the time they were way over cooked. You would get 4 or 5 fries at the bottom of the the serving that looked like they had gone through a nuclear war. So anyone who is judging the new fries based on anything they saw in the news and have not tried the new cut isn't being fair to the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and try them, you will not regret it, I promise you this! They are a fair style fry, which if you dont like French Fries at the fair, you dont know French Fries. So that negative publicity about the fries was completely unwarranted and unfair. Seriously people do yourself a favor and go to Bolley's today. You will leave satisfied with the food, the service, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. Plus you are going to be supporting a locally owned business run by an...
Read moreI have been standing at the counter eating Bolley's hot dogs for 25 years. I live a few hours away now, and try to stop in when i can for lunch, maybe 2-3 times a year. This last trip the food was as good as it always has been. The restaurant was cleaner that I have ever seen it. The staff has always been nice and efficient. But, this crew on Friday 4/19 was really on their game. 3 young well groomed clean professional looking women that worked hard, worked together, and really delivered fast polite expedient service. Compared to what I usually see in today's restaurant scene, Bolley's was leaps and bounds better than any other place open right now that sells a great quick lunch at a great price in a clean professional atmosphere. These employees were great, the food was great, the restaurant was great. Management and the Owners should be proud of what...
Read moreI use to come here as a teen a few years ago with parents, now that I'm back in maine for the first time in awhile, I wanted to try my favorite place once more. Unfortunately quality has gone down since I last visit, what use to be baskets and actually affordable, and tasty, has now become overpriced, underwhelming food. At 4 dollars a hot dog, it was soggy as if it's been boiled and not at all grilled even though I saw that it was on a grill for a minute, the buns also soggy, their fries are also different, not sure how, but I don't like them either. Spent about 13 dollars all together for 2 hot dogs and a kids fry, and sadly ended up throwing a hot dog and a half away along with the fries once I made it home due to it tasting...
