Grand Central Cafe in Waterville is an absolute gem, especially if you’re looking for delicious gluten-free pizza! We stopped in with both kids and adults, and everyone left happy and full. The gluten-free pizza crust was one of the best I’ve had—flavorful, and perfectly cooked in their brick pizza oven. It’s rare to find a place that nails both regular and gluten-free crusts, but they’ve mastered it.
We tried a few different pizzas, but the pesto chicken pizza was the standout—loaded with flavor, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of sauce. The brick oven gives every pizza a slightly smoky, wood-fired taste that takes it to the next level.
The restaurant itself is eclectic and comfortable, with a welcoming vibe that works well for families or small groups. It’s conveniently located near the interstate, making it a perfect stop for a great meal while traveling. We also loved chatting with the lovely owner, who has worked here for over 18 years. Her pride and care for the restaurant really shine through in the food and service.

I'm not one to venture out too much after dark in the winter so was delighted to find they have dine in back. They still offer take out after 5 p.m. on certain days. I will frequent Grand Central Cafe and am telling my friends about this great find. The atmosphere just adds to their...
Read moreFood good but they weren't able to make sandwiches when we met. I'm not sure why you would say your open for business when half of your menu is not available. Was a bit off putting because I really wasn't in the mood for pizza. I wanted a sandwich. The pizza was ok...nothing special....but I wanted a sandwich. It be like opening a automotive garage and having no tools to do the work. To be honest I probably won't be back. I stuck to everything I touched. Place is run down and the decor really needs to be upgraded. Save your money and go elsewhere unless you like sticking to your table then by all means...
