I went here with my girlfriend for a take-out lunch and had a not-so-great experience.
First of all the food seemed a bit pricey even for a local place. ($2.49 for just a taco!) I decided on ordering the Tacos Dorados and my girlfriend got the Chicken Chimichanga. We also shared a side of chips and salsa. First of all they didn't give us a receipt which was a little fishy but i didn't think much of it. Then when we got home to eat we were shocked at the small portion size of the salsa. They only give you a tiny side-cup not much bigger than a Dixie cup. We also discovered that they made a mistake and gave her a beef chimichanga. When I went back to clear things up they wouldn't even replace it for a correct order saying that "I could order another one" and "You should have eaten in the restaurant so you could fix your mistake right away." That is just plain rudeness not to mention horrible customer service. Id expect this from a chain restaurant but not a local place. In all I'm extremely...
Read moreBeen here only multiple times. It's not usually busy when we come. Enjoyed our food and service here. There is an off street parking next door, that you can park your car, and just walk to the restaurant. You get a complimentary chips and salsa upon arrival.
Food we ordered: Bistec Ranchero Super delicious. Steak was well cooked, was not too chewy or anything. Rice was really good too.
Tacos (2 chorizo, 2 chicken, 2 steak) Tacos were delicious! Meats for the taco was not dry, it was very moist and tender. The only thing I would wish is that this restaurant have some hot sauce on the side.. The cashier was able to give us some home made salsa to put on the tacos.
Torta Hawaiiana Very different, and yummy! Mouth full of flavors. Super big and filling!
Overall, I would come again. I enjoy the food here, but would suggest bringing some hot sauce since they do not have any in...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem of Wausau!! I feel like this place has the most authentic Mexican food in all of Wausau. My husband and I had heard great things and we finally tried it and are glad we did!! You can tell that the building was not built to be a restaurant so the atmosphere is a little different, but there is some Mexican decor. From the recommendation of another customer, we tried the Al Pastor (marinated pork) tacos Mexican style (cilantro and onions, also comes with a baked jalapeno and small onion on the side) and American style (lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese). They were so good!! The food came out really fast too. We thought it was a little pricey for what you got and they seemed to nickel and dime us a bit but the food was worth it. We...
