First time at this place, it wasn't bad, but not sure if we would go back. It wasn't terrible, just not "we have to come back here!"
When we walked in, there's no clear cut "where do we go?/how do we get a table?" directions. There was a small sign on the floor, with lots of small writing, near the entrance. There was mention of checking in at "the counter," but at first glance there is no obvious "counter." After talking with a member of the waitstaff, we established the "check-in/counter" was in the left back corner of the room. Makes total sense.
After we gave our name and number in our party to the "counter," we're supposed to meander around, look at the food choices we'll have when our table becomes available and help ourselves to coffee.
The whole place is the size of a Mom & Pop gas station, not the one-stop shops we see everywhere. It's small, and its crowded. There's no real place to wait, and if you stay around the food, you're just in the way of those who have paid, been seated at a table, and trying to fill their plates.
We didn't wait long for our name to be called. We paid for our Sunday Brunch Buffet and were informed of our table number.
Beverages are included with the meal. There's coffee, tea, lemonade and a soda machine. If you want orange juice or milk, they hold that hostage behind the "counter," and only serve you a shot glass at a time. Okay, so not really a shot glass, but seriously not much bigger, and you do have to request it from them, it is not made available like the other options.
Nothing about the food was "wow, this is amazing," but it was edible and I'm not dead, so that's ways a plus. Eggs, Kielbasa, Biscuits & Gravy, Pancakes, Pizza, Breadsticks, Pulled Pork, Chicken Pot Pie and a small dessert table with cookies, donuts, scones, etc. were the options on the...
Read moreWe loved this place! The food is delicious fresh and sort well made! Oh and in my opinion Super underpriced for both the quality and quantity of food!
I had the Station Style… eggs sausage served over a bed of cheesy hash browns! The eggs were perfect and soft and the potatoes were crisp and super cheesy! A bit like macaroni and cheese flavor-wise…and that was delicious! I also asked for some jalapeño and a tortilla on the side… 50¢for the fresh cut jalapeño and a dollar for the large fresh wrap tortilla…. Totally great!
Leslie had a Land Rover…a vegan friendly entree that would have wonderfully satisfied this omnivore! Creamy and delicious sauce over portobello mushrooms and avocado on an English muffin so so so delicious.
Leslie also ordered an order of French toast for the road…Super eggy and perfectly crisp on the edges.
Great coffee too…not your typical water down thin coffee! Rich and satisfying!
The sign says “if you want a fast meal, this isn’t it…But if you want a good meal come on in”. And they are right. The prep time was on the long side for sure, but the atmosphere was nice, great people watching, and the good coffee kept coming…totally worth the wait.
For all we ordered, the tab was only $30!…totally underpriced!!!
Oh and it’s located in a converted service station! So so so cool inside! And nice outside seating as well!
Get yourself to the 6th street filling station! You’ll be...
Read moreI went for breakfast and was disappointed that I was given undercooked bacon, spam tasting sausage, overcooked dry potatoes thrown on a plate with broken pieces of uncrispy bacon. I spoke with someone about a different plate of food as I was not given the option to order or have anything else cooked for me as I wanted a new freshly cooked plate of food that would be hot and cooked fresh. I was told that I did not have to pay for the meal but not offered a plate of fresh cooked food. I left the restaurant to sit outside on the bench and wait for my ride to pick me back up from there and was told by the waiter that I could not sit outside , and that the people in the restaurant wanted to sit outside and I was the reason they could not because I was seating outside and their were plenty of tables available outside besides the one little bench chair I was sitting in. They wanted to know how long I was going to be sitting outside and when was I leaving. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed.I will not be returning for a...
