Cosmos Cafe — Restaurant in Wauwatosa

Very sad to be leaving negative feedback, as my husband and I order carry out from here all the time and love the jerk chicken pita. I wouldn't be surprised if we've ordered carry out from here like 50 times at this point. It's now been multiple times that we've gotten home and our food has melted through the styrofoam carry out containers, which makes the food unsafe to consume. After the first time I've been requesting the containers be lined with foil so as to prevent this from happening, (usually i would stop ordering from a place after this, but we really like it here so i tried to make it work this way) but they are inconsistent with actually lining them & today used parchment instead and once again the food was put into the containers too hot and melted the container. When I called to address the issue I was passed off between multiple people who were argumentative and not apologetic, which again, is very disappointing considering the people working here have generally been very considerate. Eventually they relented to refunding the only a portion of the order, even though we didn't feel comfortable eating any of it. I'm posting because I feel like this needs to be addressed for the safety of the customers, and because it truly makes me sad that I won't be ordering from here any more. Lots of fun and authentic food. We happened upon this place because North Ave Grill right next door was closed for cleaning. The proprietor was extremely friendly and eager to please. We had two gyros and lemon rice soup. The gyros were delicious - when I mentioned I love cucumber sauce, he brought us extra yogurt cucumber sauce which was fresh and delicious. I love the fact that you can sit outside behind trellises and pretend you are in Greece! Some suggestions for the owner, provide laminated menus that customers can grab when the come in the door, better signage so that people know you serve authentic Greek food. "Cosmos" could mean anything - we had no idea what type of place you were. You could catch a lot of people who would otherwise go to the North Ave Grill next door if you had better signs and marketing - even a sidewalk board with a daily special on it! Funny story: my spouse and I meant to go elsewhere but got turned around and entered this place by accident and, being anxious people, didn't want to be rude and just leave. It was a really, really fortuitous mistake because I swear it was some of the best food we've ever had. My spouse had a gyro and I had the pork souvlaki. The staff was very friendly despite being very busy - the counter was full of pickup orders. Place was clean, though I didn't use the bathroom so I can't vouch for them but I'm sure they're fine. The dining area is small but cozy though I will say anyone in a wheelchair might struggle to negotiate their way between chairs and such. I really wish we lived in the area because there's nothing even close to this good at home. Don't sleep on this place if you have a chance to go, either by accident or in purpose.
