Great selection of lamps for a small store with an abundance of other items available by catalogue. Fair warning: this place does not have a generous return policy and makes every effort not to work with the customer when returns or exchanges need to be made. They need to negotiate better with their vendors to allow them the ability to address a customer's needs. This place doesn't bother. In a world where big retailers and online stores are offering the same products at a lower cost along with generous return policies, I cannot see how this store will stay in business much longer. The owner Linda has the worst attitude. I would go to either BBC lighting or City Lights and Fans before I will ever shop here again. To compete, small businesses must offer superior knowledge. Elektra doesn't know the products they sell and gave me incorrect advice on maintaining my chandelier. Small retailers must offer superior customer service. Thanks to Linda this isn't the case. Elektra Lighting & Fans is the BEST! They need a new rating system with at least 10 stars for places like this. I was in the need for some lighting for our new house build in a time crunch, the electrician was coming to install in less than 12 hours- From the moment I walked through the door I was super impressed. The employees were very knowledgeable about lighting, but what impressed me even more was their customer service! They truly care. There was a fixture that I was interested in, it was hanging in the store- the teamwork of them taking it down and wrapping it all perfectly, getting a big box with a rod to hang it off-- I was shocked! I was able to take it with me that day--- the electrician hung it up, and it is perfect! I wish I had known about Elektra much earlier in my house build process-- I would have gone there for EVERYTHING!! The customer service far surpassed any other place I encountered for lighting! I am the owner of a top 25 sized builder in the Milwaukee area. I can tell you that not only do i have personal experience, but the experience of dozens of clients that I've sent to Elektra for lighting fixtures. They have a very eye pleasing, yet modest sized, show room. The staff is knowledgeable and holds the hands of each of the customers i send there. I recommend everyone who asks to consider Elektra Lights & Fans for their lighting purchases.

If i could also add that those of us in the home building profession cannot purchase from big box stores despite their generous return policy. There is no comparison to the product quality DELIVERED TO THE SITE. Big box store fixtures have a high rate of broken or missing items that i do not have from buying from a professional store. Considering that electricians make $100/hr it doesn't take many broken fixtures to cost me a fortune to use products from a bix box store. Nice to work...
