I would like to start off by saying, I have been here one time in July 2022, for a birthday brunch on a Sunday. We sat at the bar. Our experience was incredibly different. I ordered the birria tacos and churros. Both came out hot fresh flavorful and everything that was desired and expected. The bartender was busy but attentive and responsive. Went there today… same place…. Totally different experience. It was active, many tables dining however not packed. We got seated right away, the host was very pleasant and inviting. The ambiance is beautiful, colorful, and traditional. The menu is diverse. The waitress immediately brought out chips and salsa and asked for our drink order. The chips were cold but not bad and the salsa was a bit on the spicier side but tasty. We ordered the margarita flight and immediately… I am confused. It does not specify on the menu how many drinks you get, however in pictures from other patrons you get four flavors with description written on the board. We did not get that. We got three mystery flavors plus an empty shot glass and a mini bottle. Still fun… but not what we expected. So we played guess the flavor. We got pineapple, strawberry and passionfruit. They were all delicious, I got the passionfruit margarita on the rocks, full size after. I highly recommend it. We ordered the ceviche. I was so excited for this. It was a massive disappointment. It was missing the calamari and the octopus, loaded with onions. They were kind enough to remove it from the bill for us. The queso with chorizo was described as queso dip with chorizo on top. That is not what we received, it was mostly chorizo with some queso. I would not typically mind, however, it was hard to eat and it took so long to come out. Additionally, because there was so much chorizo, the chip could not hold it and would break. The chorizo overpowered the small amount of cheese. It was not the ooey gooey cheese dip we read on the menu. The Parrillada sounded phenomenal. It was not. The steak was burnt and so dry. The chicken was okay. The pork chop was inedible. The shrimp were rubbery and way overdone. For some reason today, they could not add chimichurri sauce to it. They did not have calamari or flan. Maybe we came on an off day or they had a vendor issue. The service today was so incredibly slow. We ordered the churros and they arrived cold and really not that great. I had a hard time rating Jalapeños Mexican Grill because the first time was great and today was terrible. The host did come with two shots of tequila and apologized for the lack of availability. I will have to come back again to see if today was a weird experience or if they really are like this...
Read moreWent there at 6:45- 7:00 on a Sturday night. It was like a night club already. It was poorly lit, and there was a DJ blasting (i really mean blasting!) music. The first time we motioned to ask him to lower the music, he did (slightly), but it was back up to the previous level within a few minutes. We then asked our server to request that he lower the music again, and someone walked over to one of their HUGE monitors, and turned it, to somewhat face a wall. I've been to restaurants that switch their atmosphere as the night goes on, but at 7:00 at night, this was ridiculous, and made it close to impossible to have a conversation. We waited a long time to get a few appetizers, and we weren't even close to finishing them, when our meals came out. I had a shrimp diablo dish, which consisted of shrimp in a (not very spicy) red sauce, and a large mound of mexican rice. The shrimp were probably U-51 to U-70 (small to tiny), many literlly the size of a thumbnail, and they were tough and chewy (previously frozen and overcooked). I wasn't aware that they automatically inclued gratuity on the bill. Upon leaving, I approached the manager, and told him that this was one of the worst dining experiences I ever had. He simply smiled and said "I'm sorry, thanks for letting me know". I wasn't expecting, or looking for anything from him, but in my opinion, he didn't seem interested to hear what I had to say. Outside the restaurant, we spoke to two other people that basically agreed with our same experience. If this is how the resaturant wants to run their business, they are certainly entitled to do so. Its just not what I expect from a restaurant at 7 PM on a Saturday night. I certainly...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars for this place, I would! You may experience discrimination. We witnessed it! It was pathetic. People sue for such a treatment and win. I will never return. The man who sat us down who appeared to be the manager, was rude and a racist! He told us our wait would be around 20 minutes. However, we asked if there were open seats at the bar. Fortunately, they were. He sat us down and never returned. We witness him continuously greeting multiple guests, which by the way were a different nationality, if everything was okay, etc. We even witnessed him bring the guest next to us at the bar, an extra dessert on the house and give away free shots. Not once did he ask us how our food was, how we were doing or anything. The food was ok. This is not one of them. Too much hype for nothing. The drinks were good, but DO NOT order any shots, as they are OVERLY pricey! The bartender charged us $16 for one shot of Casamigo Reposado, which is absurd! When we asked about it, he states well this is a restaurant, kind of insinuating that we do not go out! Staff were also rude at the bar. They were very short, acting as if we were bothering them when asking for chips and salsa, utensils, or napkins, which should have been given to us when we sat down. To top it off, they had the audacity to automatically add gratuity! My advice would be to keep scrolling when you see this place on Instagram or any social media platform! You will be highly disappointed with the service at this place! When calling to ask to speak with manager, the very next day. The worker who answered the phone was also rude, and would not give out the managers name, what does that say...
