This review might sound a little funny, but hear me out. It was a dark and stormy night. It was late. My husband and I were running around with the kids, trying to wrap up a chaotic day full of errands. We were exhausted and definitely not in the mood to cook. So we piled into the car with no real plan and just hoped to find something good to eat.
That’s when we stumbled upon this hidden gem. Believe it or not, we’ve lived in Wayne for over 20 years, and we’re even former restaurant owners, but somehow we had never seen this place before. Funny how life works. Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you least expect them.
We walked in just as they were getting ready to close. Still, the kind gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly and told us we were welcome to dine in. Even though they were out of a few dishes due to the late hour, we ordered what was available, and let me tell you, we were blown away.
The food was absolutely delicious. So much flavor, so much care in the preparation. We knew we had to come back.
And we did about three weeks later, this time earlier in the evening. Everything was available, and again, the service was just as warm and welcoming. The same gentleman remembered us, greeted us with a smile, and made sure we were comfortable. The restaurant was spotless, the food was even better the second time, and the atmosphere felt like being welcomed into someone’s Turkish home.
If you’re looking for authentic Turkish cuisine with heartfelt hospitality, this is the place to go. From the food to the service to the cozy, welcoming vibe, it’s all just amazing.
Thank you so much to the team for turning a hectic, rainy night into a memorable family dinner. We can’t wait to...
Read moreI work at the st joseph hospital and i always passed by this small restaurant. I was hungry after work and needed something quick to eat, yet satisfying. I like turkish / mediterranean food and googled this place 1st before taking a chance since it looks like a simple grab and go type of place. I regret i didn't check this place sooner. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. Got my order for dine in and i did not leave a single grain on my plate. It was good and it's legit Turkish food. The spice and flavor is on point. And i like that they serve warm bread as well. The white and green sauce that came with my entree was also good. To top it off, they have one of my fave kazandibi dessert, and it's just what i was hoping for. Definitely coming back here and i truly recommend this local own restaurant. The owner is nice and welcoming as well. They've been open for 8 months now. I hope his restaurant flourish so I can eat here whenever i work at the hospital. They do catering and delivery as well. Try...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sub Gyro and it was an absolutely delightful experience! I ordered the chicken kebab platter, and it was perfection—moist, flavorful, and cooked to absolute tenderness. The accompanying sides were equally outstanding. Their hummus, tzatziki, and garlic sauce were bursting with flavor and perfectly complemented the meal.
The portions were generous, but what truly stood out was their hospitality. I visited with friends and decided to order takeout for my husband. While waiting for my to-go order, the staff surprised us with complimentary dessert and Turkish tea, making the experience even more memorable.
Sub Gyro is a gem that combines incredible food, warm hospitality, and attention to detail. I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Turkish...
