Admittedly, there has only been one time in my life when I found myself tossing an ice cream cone into a garbage can, and that product was purchased from a kind of snack kiosk, an ice cream convenience kiosk, in Virginia Beach. It was a meager desire to taste a soft serve ice cream dipped in chocolate on a hot summer day, but alas, when my teeth cracked the chocolate covering I discovered it tasted of cardboard. Cost be damned, into the trash bin it went. Almost exactly the opposite occurred at Kline's in Waynesboro: upon tasting the double dip chocolate/vanilla in a sugar cone my eyebrows elevated nearly off my forehead, I uttered the word, "Wow!", and I failed to concentrate on any sensory input other than my taste buds for the next 15 minutes. To say that the simple, basic, vanilla tasted better than any vanilla ice cream I have had in the last 15 years would be akin to asserting the primacy of a campfire in the woods over a gas fireplace in the trailer. I have no idea how Kline's produces this product, but I suspect wizardry. I have no idea how much my double scoop cone cost because, in my opinion, when it's time for ice cream, if you have to ask how much, you should have a salad instead. There are some places that one needs to visit at least once in their life: A fantastic donut shop, coffee shop, bakery, or ice cream shop. I have opinions on all of these, but Kline's currently ranks at the top of my list for scoops of ice cream in a cone. I live 90 minutes from Kline's, and that...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered 2 sundaes and after paying for them, we were notified they didnāt have 1 in stock, and the other one had been discontinued, although it was still listed on their menu and apparently in their software as well. I was told before I reached the window but when I was trying to tell the young lady at the register/window, she continually cut me off and closed the window. She finally came back and informed me they were out of one of the flavors and asked me what flavor to replace it. I tried to explain we were told they were out of both flavors and she said thatās not the case and left again. Then she came to the window again to say they were out of both. I already knew that and if she had listened to both her boss and myself, instead of speaking over me, they would have gotten a 5. I donāt mind they ran out of something. I just think they need to hire people who can simply apologize and move on instead of being rude. Ice cream was good. Nothing spectacular but good. Thereās other shops in town so will check them out too but likely be back...
