We ate at Butter Churn Cafe this past Saturday. The cafe was busy due to a street fair on Main Street in Waynesville. We want to commend the three ladies working that day for working extremely hard to keep up with all the orders for food and ice cream. Of course, there was a bit of a wait for our food to arrive, but we knew that would be the case when we walked in the door because of how busy the place was. The three ladies were very nice, kind, polite, and helpful; the service was excellent.
We were there when the situation took place between the worker (the long blonde-brown-haired lady) and the reviewer who made the previous review giving the cafe a bad review. We personally heard the conversation, and the staff member was very professional and polite. She was not rude or loud to the reviewer or to anyone else that day, and she was telling all the customers that they would get the food to them as soon as they could.
Taking and posting pictures of the inside of a business is not wise and should never be allowed without the business owner's permission, as it puts the business and employees in an unsafe position and danger of being harassed. The picture concerning Butter Churn Cafe should be removed immediately.
There are some people who will complain about everything and anything just because they want to. Nothing will ever make them happy because they live an unhappy life and they want everyone to be miserable and unhappy like themselves. If I was the long-haired blonde-brown-haired lady, I would never wait on these individuals again because they probably write a bad review about her or other employees and the Cafe’ again.
Before writing a bad review about a small business and someone's job performance, remember that you're writing about someone's livelihood. Ask yourself before writing a bad review, "Is it...
Read moreIt took over 30 minutes for our order (one panini and one salad) to be served. What made the situation more frustrating was that customers who arrived 10–15 minutes after us received their food first, despite also dining in. When we politely asked about our order, the staff member we spoke with (long blond-brown hair) was very dismissive and raised her voice, telling us “they are busy.” This exchange was loud enough that others in the restaurant turned to watch, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary.
We tried to explain that we understood the restaurant was busy, but we were confused as to why others who ordered well after us were served first. Her response felt rude and unprofessional, which only added to the poor experience.
To be candid, we should have requested a refund but did not. The quality of the food was also disappointing, and unfortunately, the overall impression left us questioning whether we...
Read moreThis is by far the best café I have been to. The atmosphere feels like you're stepping into grandma's kitchen and the service is friendly and nostalgic. There are remnants of history on the walls that allow customers to take a walk back in time. You will have a variety of tasty meals to choose from. My personal favorite is the Amazing Grilled Cheese. After you eat, don't forget to grab dessert. There are many taste treats including Young's Dairy ice cream which is a very unique dessert to find in Waynesville. This café is one of a kind. You won't be disappointed...
