"DeyJahView!!!" is how I pronounce it and is what I felt when I went to SMOKY MOUNTAIN COFFEE ROASTERS last week in nearby Waynesville, North Carolina. That was the year. The Intermezzo and Adrianna's were the two coffee shops. The city was the Capital of South Carolina and we had already published PROVINCE 19 the life & times of pre-chinese Columbia a community journal™. In the mountains however there is a clarity of the day and the morning and the BEST CUP OF JOE in the Smoky Mountains. No South Carolina Governor traipsing the Appalachian Trail in Fiction and not a soul to be wary of here at Smoky Mountain Coffee Roasters so early in the morning. No doubt the traveling salesman trying to grift a buck in the free state of South Carolina where money is everyone's Highest Power might mosey in this quaint coffeeshop across from FREE PARKING courtesy of the good town of Hazelwood. Personally I could spend every morning of my life up here BEFORE I "begin the beguine." Of course I would also look forward to meeting and playing with the more spiritually minded musical playa's up here. I most certainly look forward to that very soon, God willing and...
Read moreThe good: The lox bagels are my favorite in Waynesville. This is definitely my go to place when I want a lox bagel. They also have a great selection of bagels which makes for different flavor options.
The employees are friendly and helpful, and there are desserts and pastries to enjoy. They also have free Wi-Fi and seating both in the front near the windows and toward the back. One of my favorite atmospheres for a cafe in the town of Waynesville--friendly and usually not too loud.
The bad: I mainly drink espresso drinks, even at home. That said, every time I get an espresso drink here it doesn’t taste good to the point that I usually don’t even drink it—honestly I really dislike Dunkin’ but would prefer it over this, with or without a flavor added (I usually get a latte). On repeat visits I always hope it will be better, but sadly not even for a place that roasts...
Read moreHusband and I both ordered iced lattes. Upon receiving them they smelled off, taking the first sip I knew why, bad milk. I hate to complain but also wasn't going to drink expired or bad milk so I took them back to the register and told the barista who made them. She said hang on and went to get the other girl working, no apologies or offer for a remake. The other girl comes over and ask how I know the milk is bad?... I tell her it tastes like spoiled milk her respone was "well what do you want?" At this point her attitude was making me mad so I just say a "refund" she acts like she's not sure if she can refund them and I finally say look we took one sip out of them BEFORE even leaving the store a refund is common in this situation. It takes over 3 minutes but the refund is eventually counted back, awful customer service and the drinks...
