We came in for breakfast late in the morning, there were 3 waitresses that I could see, the younger one took our order with a very poor attitude right from the beginning, we waited 45 minutes for our food. The other customers started making comments to us about how we had been forgotten, we tried to be understanding because we knew it was busy that morning. When our food finally arrived it was a total disappointment, the waitress didn’t even talk to us as she just threw the plates on the table, I was appalled at the discourtesy of said waitress and the awful looking food I had been just served. The hash-browns were burnt on the outside and mushy on the inside. I began to ask her kindly if she thought it was ok to serve that food to someone who had been waiting that long. Instead of finding out what was wrong with the food (although it was obvious) the waitress proceeded to question my taste, telling me “some people like them like that” I told her the sight of the food was rough and she said “that’s exactly how my day is going”. Now, with a stern tone I continued trying to explain to her that I was not OK to serve that food to someone that is paying for someone else to cook and be served with a decent meal. As she proceeded to argue with me, (my mind melting in disbelief at the lack of professionalism) another customer waiting to pay, told her all she had to do was take back that food, and bring back food that was not burnt, and to not argue with her customers. Then she proceeded to argue with said customer. She continued to loudly state, how awful her day was going, to which I replied that in such scenario it was no longer the customers fault and I asked to talk to someone else. At that point, I asked her to stop talking to me, and I was no longer willing to listen to such a childish adult, it was like talking to a teenager throwing a tantrum because she’s desperate for attention. The two older waitresses were kind, efficient, and understanding. They offered to “discount” the burnt hash-browns, but I explained to them that none of this had to do with money or discounts. We would be happy to pay for ALL the food, had our issue been resolved quick and efficiently. WE ALL LEFT WITHOUT EATING, AND A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE THAT MAY KEEP US FROM COMING BACK and most definitely will share this story with all our friends and family. The place is great, the staff is mostly kind and professional, but that waitress who hates her life in that restaurant, needs to find a different place to work, because if she is miserable while working, she’s going to make the customers day miserable as well. Her need of attention is not the kind of attention a restaurant or any...

Our family has frequented this place several times in the recent past and we have had wonderful service. However, today was a completely different experience! My daughter, whom is 14 months old, was making her usual noises and talking her gibberish. Apparently this was TOO much for the two waitresses who were working there. Towards the end of our lunch we couldn’t help but notice the two waitresses whispering amongst each other and they both has disgusted looks on their faces. I kindly said “Is my daughter bugging you? If so, I’ll take her outside.” The older waitress replied “Actually, yes. I have customers in here.” Excuse me? What are we? Mind you, there was four people in the restaurant. So, we left. The two waitresses were SO extremely rude to my family and I as we were leaving. I didn’t know babies weren’t allowed to be babies. Had I thought she was being too much, I would have respectfully took her out of the restaurant because no one wants to hear screaming children while they are trying to enjoy their lunch. Trust me, I fully get it. I can say, my daughter is NOT out of control by any means. She was just in her car seat, being a baby. To say the least, we will NOT be returning to The Nugget Restaurant again. Which is quite sad because we ate there multiple times a week and were planning on going there more often. Overall, the food is okay and the atmosphere is extremely outdated and ran down. If I could give zero stars on my...

The food was what you expect from a diner type dinning experience. The extremely problematic waitress was absolutely disgusting and should be fired immediately for risking public health. We watched her touch her eyes, nose, mouth, hair multiple times and then proceed to touch dishes and food. She was on her phone taking selfie’s (who cares, but phones are germ magnets) and then proceeding to touch food and utensils. She waited for orders to come up resting on the shelf with her hand in her mouth. She sneezed on food. This type of behavior is unacceptable in the best of times, during a pandemic it is egregious. The icing on the cake was the hair a found cooked into my hash browns from the hairnet-less cook. I don’t write scathing reviews often and I certainly appreciate waitstaff immensely (I even tipped this Typhoid Mary very well, which in hindsight I regret). I dined with my best friend who is a server at a very popular tourist restaurant in our own town, and she was appalled. I am concerned for my kids health and my own for eating there, and also the global community at large. Please skip this restaurant, for...

This is a typical, old school diner with wholesome, nothing fancy, American-style food. The service is excellent with friendly and efficient waitstaff. However, I found the food to be a little too typical. Everything that I ordered seemed to be cooked on a flattop, even things that aren't supposed to be. I ordered a chicken-fried steak but instead of a thinly pounded steak coated in batter and then deep fried I received something like a thin burger that was dredged in flour and then cooked on the flattop (at least that is how it seemed to me). Nothing else seemed to be above average, if that. Still, it is comfort food and I will probably go back, eventually.

There's not much in Weaverville and this place is lucky that is the case. The 4 star rating is has earned in maps is relative, I guess. I mean clean your ceilings, what does the kitchen look like? The server forgot to put our order in so we waited an hour for an over cooked, previously frozen, cheese burger & a dry French dip. She asked if I wanted ketchup, I did. So she brought it to the table next to us. (Who arrived 30 min after us but who's food arrived only 2 minutes after ours) AND THEN NEVER CHECKED IN AGAIN. I had to get my own ketchup from the waitress stand across the restaurant because she was a complete disaster. Go anywhere else.
