I stopped at this Steak'n Shake while passing through on 5/10/21. After driving for many hours, waiting 30 minutes in the drive thru was not ideal but a welcomed rest from the road. After arriving at the window, the cashier (Joseph P) looked like he was single-handedly cooking the food and running the register at the same time. I couldn't help but notice the very large bandage hanging off his arm as he was actively bleeding from it and had blood on his opposite hand. As a business owner myself, I understand that finding employees is more difficult now than ever before since unemployment would easily pay this gentleman more to stay home than to come to work. As a concerned customer, I felt like I should ask him if he needed help instead of handing him my debit card. Regardless, I know 99.9% of people (like myself) would never read an online review before choosing a fast food restaurant (there's literally a Steak'n Shake at each exit in St. Louis). That's not the intent of this review. As a customer, I'm literally trying to speak to the owner of the restaurant. I POSTED THIS REVIEW INSTEAD OF CALLING THE CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Close your doors and give this man his unemployment before your negligence gets...
Read moreSo I went there this morning taking an early lunch. I waited in line for about 20min and it was only 1 car ahead of me... but that was the problem. The problem was the female at the window was very unprofessional. She came off as having an attitude problem. I smiled and said goodmorning... she barely opened her mouth to respond, and when she gave me my food I asked her was there butter & syrup in the bag for my pancakes and she said, "yea" again... unprofessional like. I pull over to the side, my pancake and syrup was in the bag but not my butter or hashbrown pattie. So I was heated at this moment, I went in and told a lady my issue, a cook by the name of Martez (I think that's what he said his name was) came and made the situation SO MUCH better!! He was very apologetic (even though it wasn't his fault), and made me a fresh hashbrown pattie! Please have him teach the rest of the staff on how to handle customers, he is a GREAT asset to the entire Steak N Shake company. Please give this man acknowledgment for his great work! I will be back but only because of him, everyone else there got...
Read moreI will NEVER go to this location again, EVER!! I visited Steak and Shake at 7:30 p.m.. I waited at the speaker for 15 minutes no one ever greeted me. All of the outside lights were on including the menu lights. And all of the lights on the inside were on, including the dining room lights, even though the dining room is not available to customers. So I went to the window and honked a few times to try to get somebody's attention. I tried to peek through drive-thru window a little to see if I seen any workers, and I seen absolutely no one. After sitting at the window for at least 10 to 15 minutes I decided to call inside to see if I could get someone's attention. I called the store three times and no answer. While I was there I seen approximately 15 cars come and go through that drive-thru without anybody greeting them. So I guess I should assume the store is closed? The internet said they should be open and all of the lights told me they were open. Very confused and very aggravated! I will never return to that Steak and...
