I just had to review the Rose Room.
Eaten there twice now and I have to say that this is a great place with great food and a wonderful addition to the area. It's clean, bright, open, airy and all the cooking is done right in front of you.
Had an "egg samy" (samy = sandwich) my first time in and an order of "Yolks n Spuds" the 2nd time. Highly recommend and so good!
They make everything fresh upon order. This isn't fast junkfood sitting under a heat lamp all day praying you order it.
That said, they're quick with serving you and the food is so fresh and flavorful it's amazing! Different flavors just dance on your tastebuds and orchestra of healthy goodness. This is the best place to go if you want to eat healthy, guilt free and are trying to lose weight.
Everything used is all fresh and harvested from local farms and shops. Local, fresh, ripe, organic, and bursting with flavor. Yummm!
Then there's the coffee. JUST WOW! Made by a professional coffee barista. They have the absolute BEST coffee in town...period! The big brand shops don't even compare. If you're a coffee lover, you owe it to yourself to visit the Rose Room just for the coffee. Thank me later for the recommendation.
I'm looking forward to the next time I'm there because I am going to order one of their fresh made sodas/tonics. Fresh made to order soda...WHO DOES THAT!? Love it...
Read moreThe Good & the Bad The Bad Unfortunately, I was served a partially uncooked potato and my husband (first time there based on my recommendation) was overcharged for it. “Yolks and Spuds” was ordered without the yolks.. and instead of more potatoes instead of egg, the standard amount was served without eggs (which is ok) yet he was charged more than the original cost. Just very strange. He mentioned we thought the potatoes were meant to be smashed as the menu mentioned and the chef just smiled and said, “they are.” But they weren’t. It was not even fully cooked. It was just all very awkward. There was no attempt to correct the situation. The chef just asserted the potatoes were smashed and left it. Sadly, we also learned they use soy and palm oil in the baked goods—not local, eco friendly nor healthy. Just very disappointed, particularly after talking the place up to my family and sharing many of my purchases from the gift shop with friends.
The good Good the first two times and there’s cute tiny gift shop. The gal at the front was fantastic and the coffee she made was wonderful, and the middle aged beauty was a cheerful server. The chilled water served is lovely and the menagerie of dish ware is charming. Wash cloths instead of paper towels.
Summary Can be a nice place but it’s hit or miss. Hopefully you go on a good day.

Read moreI am so glad that we adventured to The Rose Room this morning!!! Walking in simply felt like home (possibly because they have some of the same chairs my grandfather had!). From the mismatched, antique china and chairs to the freshly baked pastries, I knew we were in for a treat.
I got a cold brew with oat milk, which had delicious mapley vibes, and a sausage, gouda, and egg biscuit. The beau had the biscuits and white bean, mushroom gravy with a strong pour-over. The biscuits are true showstoppers. The gouda was incredible. The gravy could have been a meal of soup on its own.
Jess welcomed us warmly and asked for our names, which was just a simple kind and homey moment. Bill was hard at work making breakfast but was sure to check in with us when he had a moment between orders, along with the barista.
We are looking forward to coming back on some evenings, pleasantly surprised by their cocktail and beer menu, including some of our favorite Maine brews. This is a truly...
