Asian American Barbecue — Restaurant in Weed

If i could give this place negative stars; i would in a heartbeat. Went in on October 6th, 2018. Not only did they attempt to overcharge me for 4 small cups of sauce, but they gave me back a 5$ bill that was missing serial numbers, so that it is no longer american currency and cannot be accepted by other places. i had to argue with both owners at 7 months pregnant just to receive the CORRECT amount of change, then was given a 5$ bill back that the owner took out of her pocket, and folded so i wouldn't realize it was ripped. after that, they refused to exchange it, denying they gave it to me. Not only that, but they switch their prices every single time, there are flies surrounding the food, and the meat is cooked days prior, taken our of the fridge; then reheated. this is the worst service; worst place; and worse experience ive ever had with a 'family owned' restaurant. Have since contacted the Board of Health, and they will be conducting an investigation in the near future. Save yourself the trouble and go to Hi-Lo; where you're treated like a human being and not a person to rip off. As a local in Weed, this is truly irritating and a terrible way to conduct a business. Hopefully they get closed down when the health inspector shows up. I even have pictures of the 5$ bill they gave me back. Mind you the owners wife grabbed the 5 out of her apron, not even the register, and handed it to me folded so i wouldn't see the serial numbers missing. TERRIBLE place; do not advise anyone to ever go eat there; again just save yourself the hassle and go to Hi-Lo. The food there is much better anyways. They expected me not to say anything, because i usually havent in the past, but this was the last straw. This is not the first time theyve tried to rip me off; however it will be the last. to the owner; I have sent the picture of the 5$ your wife gave me, taken in your parking lot moments after i walked away; to the bank as well; and they will be contacting you as this is illegal. as well as the board of health for your disgusting food practices. She knew exactly what she was doing. My father has been a chef his whole life, and worked in 5 star places such as the Raddison hotel; and even he was upset. truly despicable. You should honestly be ashamed. You have no clue how to run a business and i cannot wait for the day that you get a random visit form the Board of Health!!! And you can claim im 'making up stories' like you did to everyone else on here whose given you a bad review; but we all know the truth. You and your wife are terrible owners and I hope you go out of business. P.S you told me yourself the "sauce was half hot sauce" then you came on here and told a lie in response to another review saying "Our sauce is not spicy" AND i've personally seen you kick truckers out because of where they were parked. YOU sir, are the real liar. People wouldnt bash your business if you didnt deserve it. You are truly despicable. i will be in first thing when i get off tomorrow for you to exchange my 5$ bill. and i will refuse to leave until you give it to me as it was YOUR WIFE who basically robbed me. I'm not sure how to succinctly describe my experience here but I'll try:

We walk up to the restaurant and there's a lone man operating a smoker, the smell it's producing can only be described as divine.

So we walk up and browse the menu, none of us have any idea what we want to eat. The man emerges from the shop and asks us what we think we want, we tell him we are unsure. He boldly proclaims that we probably want the pork sandwich. We ask him about altering the toppings or more sauce or what have you and he assures us we don't want too. He assures us not to worry about the sauce, people have fought over the sauce. I thank God everyday that we listened. The sauce was incredible.

What we received 15 minutes later can only be described as the greatest sandwich that has ever blessed my mouth and nose. I say this as someone who spent no small amount of time working at a high end sandwich shop.

The food was so good in fact, that after about an hour of swimming in the local lake, we came back to order more. Despite us being dumb and misreading the listed hours, he still served us once again, with a limited stock due to having begun shutting down for the night, it was just as amazing if not better the second time.

In short: absolutely a 10/10 experience, I can only describe what occurred as being served immaculate food by some kind of incredible BBQ sage who was frankly too good to a bunch of confused, and frankly, probably pretty annoying kids. This man has it figured out and I wish him absolutely nothing but the best after experiencing both his skill and hospitality. I cannot reccomended this...

Stopped on Weed just to get this BBQ. Super excited. Pulled in and was told we needed to sanitize our hands before entering. Ok

Looked at the menu and it looked fabulous! We ordered 2 combo plates with rice and pork dumplings. Cranky man said dumplings take a long time. That’s ok, we’re not in a hurry.

Order was placed and paid and we were told to go outside. Too crowded inside for our 4 people. Ok!

Got ourselves drinks from our cooler and got an outside table. Went to pick up our food and a guy at the inside table said to make sure to try the hot sauce so we asked for extra. Owner said no! You already got some…. Ok

Started eating our meal and owner asked if everything was ok. Yup! He asked if we wanted more hot sauce….. um, ya!!!

He came out with a smile, gave us tons of hot sauce and extra napkins.

Bbq was fantastic, rice was dry. You’d think it would be perfect, right?

So 4 stars for food, 3 service and 3 atmosphere since we were forced to...
