The pork is tender with great flavor, however, the same problem I run into with every BBQ shack is that the brisket is not tender, it's somewhat tough. It could be avoided by cooking at a lower temperature for longer and flipping the brisket fat-side up so the juices drip down into the meat. The flavor is great though, the rub is smokey and carmelized. Potato salad severely lacked seasoning -- even just a pinch of salt would help this side out immensely. The beans were good, they had bits of smoked meat in them -- maybe brisket -- which added great flavor (I'm a fan!) The sauces (which are all free!) are good. You get a choice of mustard, horseradish white, spicy and sweet. The sweet is smokey and has a lingering flavor of molasses to it. I expected more of a horseradish taste to the white sauce, but it was still a tasty addition to the meats and has grown to be my favorite sauce! Overall: good experience, I'll be back for a second time to try more items! Shout-out to my co-worker Keith who recommended the place. Thanks Keith! 👍 Update 8/19: Tried their Duke burger and potato casserole but wasn't very impressed. Their burger was loaded with bag cheese which really altered the flavor, onion rings were soggy and the burger was bland. Casserole was alright but I've definitely made better from home. Still, the service is always friendly and the location is unique. I'd recommend for the beans and pulled pork, but I'm going to give this a rest and try it again at a later time, maybe they were just having an off day. Update: 11/21: Ribs are phenomenal. 😘🤌🏼 Juicy, succulent, flavorful, have the perfect tear while still coming off the bone easily -- very tender and moist. Better than a lot of ribs I've tried in STL!

What did I buy??? A 2 meat meal that had 2 rib bones, which was ok, except for all the tiny bone chips that had broken off into the meat. i also had the driest and tough brisket I have ever eaten. The black parts of the brisket couldn’t even be chewed because it was just tough char. The potato salad that was described as just some mayo and mustard…unfortunately also had eggs, salad bar cheese and some strange crunch that was not very edible. The bbq beans was told to us that they are a nice sweet taste…but they forgot to mention that there’s a lot of heat too…unedible. The other meal, pulled pork was also very dry along with the chicken and brisket. And no, bbq sauce did not help it any. Cole slaw also had jalapeños in it even tho it was described as sweet as KFC. And the Gouda potatoes was just watery. Overall, I am extremely disappointed that most was dried out unflavored and sides had a lot of hot spices in them. This meal sadly cost 56 bucks and you can see by the pictures we hardly ate anything. We wasted our money and management offered no assistance. I do not recommend this place at all

Came on a weekday for lunch. We ordered the brisket horseshoe sandwich, ribs, a brisket sandwich, and potato salad Pros: -staff were very friendly and ordering was very efficient -I love the array of bbq sauces they have, pairs well with the food -although I’m used to tx brisket with more smoke and flavor the brisket was cooked really well and pulled apart easily -the fries were so good I got a second order! The texture and crisp of them was perfect! Cons: -the potato salad. It was very bland, very large chunks of potato instead of diced, and there was cheese in it which I’ve never seen before. Definitely not a fan -the brisket horseshoe “sandwich” is not actually a sandwich. It’s on a single piece of toast with no top which doesn’t qualify as a sandwich so i was confused when I got my meal. The beer cheese and bbq sauce is too much for the bread so the bread was soggy and I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Had I of known it wasn’t an actual sandwich I wouldn’t have ordered it. Overall I would definitely go back and probably stick to a brisket sandwich and fries

So since I last visited, the atmosphere has changed for the better. Nice looking menu, clean interior and exterior. Today was a lovely day, my wife and I sat outside. This review is sole based on the Brisket Horseshoe. My wife and I both ordered the Brisket Horseshoe and shared a Burnt End Rangoon. I took a picture of the Burnt End Ragoon because of the nice presentation. For some reason, the Brisket Horseshoe pictures didn't turn out. There are a few other restaurants in the area who attempt this Horseshoe concept with beer cheese. While my wife and I enjoyed the experience, certain aspects kept popping up. My wife enjoyed the pungent beer flavor in the beer cheese while I was eh about it. The flavor of the brisket was good to us both. Seemed like an ok portion of brisket. The lack of fries was the downer to us both. The beer cheese was a little thin for my liking. So head to Dukes and give it a try to see your point of view.

This was a Google food near me find and we took a chance. Boy am I glad we did...it is a small BBQ shack with some seating inside. We got a special that was ribs and wings with Mac and cheese that was so creamy and flavorful I just wanted to snuggle under a blanket with it and a good movie. We also shared a pulled pork sandwich that was moist and good. The wings were the best Ive had in a while. The skin was crispy and bite through and we got the mixed buffalo and sweet chili or tiger sauce. They were so good. The ribs were tender and flavorful...we missed the smoked scalloped potatoes but another couple new to the place said they were amazing and we should have gotten them. We opted for the baked beans and I'm not sorry. They were a mind bender mix of baked beans with a chili flavor and I kept going back for more. Oh and don't forget the cookie that comes with the sandwich meal.. it is a decadent end to an amazing meal.

I ordered the smoked wing. It was a great portion, particularly for the $10 price point. Added a sausage link and side of the pit beans. The beans were a knockout 10! Great consistency with all the smoky “country” feel that you might expect of baked beans down south. The smoke sausage was great in flavor. Admittedly, I could have used some char on the sausage. It came looking more boiled than smoked/grilled. Nonetheless the taste was top quality. Now for the wings…these are a “MUST TRY” item on the menu. The craftsmanship that went into them was recognized as the sauce was evenly distributed and well matched with the taste of the chicken. Not over powering by any means (I ordered the tiger stripped option). The smoke chicken flavor was industry leading and the whole experience was a positive one. I have written other BBQ reviews and this 5 star was earned. Well done, I will certainly be back!
