The City of Wentzville, where I live and pay my very hard earned tax dollars now for over 22 years, is one of the highest tax rates paid in the State of Missouri. It would be HIGHLY BENEFICIAL to the general public and to the workers at ANY DMV, if there was a designated person to greet you at the door to guide everyone to the proper designated areas assigned to getting each task completed, MAKING SURE THAT THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION WAS READILY AVAILABLE TO GET SUCH TASKS COMPLETED. PRIOR TO LETTING ANYONE SIT THERE FOR HOURS, ONLY TO START THIS PROCESS RIGHT BEFORE CLOSING TIME, only to find out that NOPE! I WAS THE ONE WHOM STUPIDLY OVERLOOKED THAT ONE DOCUMENT NEEDED, only to be told right before closing. Man do they change their gears and speed things up when it gets too close to closing time! There was a young man employee approaching everyone that had been there waiting for hours such as myself, asking and making sure all the documents were ready so that they could close up and go home. Several others did not have their documents and left frustrated as did I. However, I was able to retrieve my document and return back to the DMV within the same amount of time that they helped maybe 2 people. The same people that were in line ahead and behind me with the numbers that they had drawn still in their hands showing that mine had not been called yet. They refused to assist me in completing my task of upgrading to a REAL ID for travel. They said that since I had left that I could not re-enter the building. I understand their time is valuable and get having to lock the doors to prevent the late-comers from just showing up and holding them up from getting off of work on time, and getting to their personal lives. However, had I just had the document I would still be inside and the timeline would not have changed whatsoever on them closing up. I asked for some human kindness and compassion, and to just see it as I had never left, the line was still the same as it were when I had left! I too work with the general public for 12 hr days, and also have to lock our doors as well - just to close out the day. I explained that my only guaranteed days off are Sundays and since Iâm gone 12 hour days they open and close while Iâm still at work. That I wonât have another opportunity to come back until at least the 15th and thatâs not even guaranteed! My job doesnât allow for us to leave early for personal tasks to be completed and Dr. visits are extremely rare and hard to request to leave for. While this entire situation couldâve been avoided by myself for my failure to have my marriage license with me, my fault entirely. I was exhausted from being overworked and attending a funeral earlier in the day. My head was not where it shouldâve have been. Compassion and kindness for mankind within the few employees that I had interacted with, completely non-existent with common sense. Thatâs what my hard earned tax dollars gets me, not another care in the world. But boy oh boy, they sure make the time to weed through people quickly at the end of the day just so they...
Read moreZero stars. Absolutely atrocious. Had to get there 15 minutes prior to wait in line then once they let people inside, they for some reason hadn't logged into their systems yet and half their computers were down. Not entirely sure how 3 of the computers worked fine and the other 3 were having issues with their system. 4 of the 6 workers couldn't accomplish anything without pulling one of the other workers off a working computer because they're incapable of troubleshooting themselves or just holding the phone to their ear waiting for tech support. Left after half an hour. They processed 2 or 3 licenses, hadn't completed a single new title or sales tax, and they were on the 2nd person for renewals. In a half an hour. And somehow didn't log into their systems and made sure they were working before their egregiously early open time of 9am.
Came back in the next day. Exponentially better. It would benefit everyone if people coming in would research what they need before they get there to expedite the lines. Got there 10 minutes early and was out in just under a half hour. The workers were able to complete their tasks independently which helped alot as opposed to yesterday. Originally gave a 1 star and now...
Read moreALWAYS super slow. It is worth your time to drive to O'Fallon, Warrenton, or Troy just to avoid this location. The time you spend driving to one of these other locations you will make up by not standing in a ridiculously long line at the Wentzville location, which is always understaffed. I think each one of the employees, supervisors and the owner should all have to spend one of their days off per month standing in line at this place. I don't think it would take too long before things would start to improve. Comedians make jokes about the wait times at the dmv, this is the location they are all referring to.
** JUST TO CONFIRM. Went to the Warrenton location today, was there for 35 minutes and back out- done. NO CHANCE THIS WOULD EVER HAPPEN AT WENTZVILLE. And get this, they have someone that greets you as you walk into the office and confirms you have all the correct paperwork before you get in line.
THATS RIGHT, BEFORE YOU GET IN LINE!!!! Not like Wentzville where you stand in line for, more than on several occasions for myself and my friends and neighbors, 90+ minutes... even 2 hours+ sometimes only to have a smug employee tell you you don't have everything you need and you will need...
