We had only been one time before during lunch hours. We went during lunch hours to find out they are only dinner prices for Sunday's. When I went for lunch prior I had left over and took home.(very small amount) Didn't ask to take them they brought me a box and said take that home. Was not charged at all for them. However my son ordered like 3 different rolls to try. He is not a fan of sushi so did not end up eating but 4 bites. I was charged his 23.99 for his plate. I did NOT want to take it home, but was told I had to pay AGAIN for his food even though he didn't like it nor wanted to take it home. I did not realize you would get your plate examined for how much you eat so they can charge you multiple times for food you already paid for. Our bill for 3 people ended up being 134.00. I think there needs to be a better explanation on your menus how you charge for left over food you didn't like nor want to take home and have to pay for again. We will not be back unfortunately. We could of had a very nice steak dinner for 134.00 not some rice and fish.
response to owner reply You should train your staff better. She never mentioned this up front. Not until we got the bill did she clarify this policy. I have the receipt. We got 4 crab rangoon which we eat fully. I paid for a side of rice extra. 2 fried Oreo which my husband and son ate. I ordered 4 rolls which I ate all but maybe a roll total. Same with my husband so your 6-8 per person wasn't accurate at all. My son did order probably 6. Which like I said he wasn't sure of sushi as it was his first time. So, he wanted to try different kinds. He took 4 bites out of them all total. It does state any left over is extra, but it doesn't state even if you do not take it home. Maybe you would spell it out better for us stupid people I guess. As I would assume if I pay you for my meal. I wouldn't have to pay you again cause I was full and...
Read moreWe have been loyal patrons of this establishment since it opened and have consistently considered it our favorite dining spot in Wentzville. However, our recent experiences have been disappointing. On our last three visits, the service has noticeably declined. Each time, we were informed that our server was new—often on their first or second day.
While we continue to tip generously, recognizing that these individuals are doing their best under challenging circumstances, our concern lies not with the servers themselves but with the management practices in place. It is concerning that new employees are expected to manage multiple tables independently with little to no support or guidance. At no point during these visits did a manager intervene, assist, or even make their presence known.
Proper training and supervision are essential in any role, and it is unfair to place new staff in high-pressure situations without adequate preparation. Even volunteer roles often require orientation and training before one is expected to perform independently.
Regrettably, this seems to be a recurring issue at this location, and it has impacted our decision to return. We hope that leadership takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to better support their team—especially those just starting out. Investing in proper training and oversight not only benefits employees but also enhances the overall...
Read moreWe LOVE Sushi Ai (the Zumbehl location is our favorite, fo show)! 🍥
However, we live in Troy, so we were obviously excited for the new location in Wentzville to open. Unfortunately, we walked away a little dissatisfied.
The food was the same quality, so definitely no knock there! 👍
But when it came to service, that's where this location fell short. The restaurant was not in a rush hour, as several tables were still open. Yet, when it came to serving our table, the staff seemed uninterested in attending to our basic needs.
The took all of our menus away, forgetting that we still hadn't ordered. We had to go back to the counter to request them (because nobody was coming back to us, which was about 5 minutes in time).
After getting the menus back, they apologized... yet still didn't return to our table to take the order. 🤔
That resulted in us having to go back and request for our order to be placed. The rest of the meal was fine, until we finished our plates and had to stare down the service counter before they apologized again before getting us more sushi.
We hope to eat here again with better results the...
