7•11•25 came by for my husband's birthday we did a party for 2 just us. I ordered the 2 sliders it was ok wasn't as good as last yr but it was meh! The keto salmon salad that was still great. And we had the funnel cake with a little candle that was good too. The only downfall I had the waitress was never up to par. And it so happens its the same waitress as last time. She does it incomplete never comes for refills I have to flag her down. First it was a young girl long curl hair she was nice she started then idk what happened they swapped no communication with eachother abt our service then she passed button to a plus-sized girl I don't care if the size whatmatters is the service they didnt give names so I describe them. Anyways service was bad. Food was good
Came 9•28•24 back brought my lil sis she absolutely loved it. Said it was very delicious she didn't finish it. But, I will recommend it further to others. She ordered the sliders, and they weren't playing very well served. Got 2 choices the wow! To the point and why you cryin. And I got to quieres chorizo and to the fun guy. And My mum came with and reordered the keto salmon bowl. I was in love with them, Brussels sprouts. I can't get enough of those, I ordered the mac n cheese balls, and those are awesome.
Well, we came back and brought some relatives they absolutely loved it. She irdered the Salmon keto bowl oh my was it delish. Give it a try you wont regret it, guys. It is a nice big chunk of salmon well worth your money. I ordered to the point burger it is good. But, yes, but... it comes plain if you want lettus, tomato, pickle it will cost you a good amt. Which I found to pricey like ex: pickle 75 cents for 2 pickle slices. 🙄 idk just crazy. I don't want to kill it. But because it is good food, but just FYI, their burgers don't come with veggies, yall. It will be extra. Look at the menu I posted. It will add up. Make good choices. If you like veggies, then I recommend the salads, but no bread, you can't winnem any y'all. But your call. The Brussels sprouts are delish very different must try. No regrets very unique taste.
1st time here, the experience was great. The ambience is great, nice and quiet, the staff is very nice, the gentleman who attended me was a very nice man named Benito, who explained every question I had and gave good recommendations on what is good. yes, everything is good, but I chose 3 items out of the menu, and I had no regrets, just a subconscious it was a big NO No on my behalf, lol j/k. But it ought to be a sin eating this great tasting food. The burgers are not your typical burgers. they are made out of brisket. I guess Patty compressed a bit under 1/2 pounds, but darn, it is so good. I ordered "The Fun Guy" I was curious as to why didn't they serve it with lettus, tomato all the usual but he gave me a great answer yet just so I can have some he still brought me it yet told me plz try it without the veggies 1st because once you put all veggies it changes the flavor Well, and I'll be damn it was fantastic. And it isn't the greasy, oily type of burger. This is a really good juicy meaty kinda burger freshly made had crispy thick bacon, and mushrooms and cheese (oh man... my ticker) guys, just try it. My husband tried the "Quierez Chorizo" 😳 this was so good for all them chorizo lovers, you would like this one. It was very delish and cheese on that burger. Wow! 3 slices that kinda meaty cheese, oh boy. So good. We tried the Mac & cheese balls we got the half order wow those are amazing crispy on outside but soft and cheesy on the inside 🤯 so we will return and try something else yet they say their best sellers are the salmon still yet to try. But I think I will aim for another kind of beef burger or salad. Give it a try guys ask for Mr. Benito is a very hospitable gentleman. Any questions he will answer you. Now it is a bit pricey but you will get your moneys worth and be wanting more. Trust me on this one. My pics burger looks small. Sorry, my angle, but it is NOT a small burger. It's just...
Read moreI found this location when I was browsing for a place to eat after the Weslaco Christmas 5k. It looked pretty good, and the menu seemed interesting, so we all decided to give it a shot.
FOOD
My wife and I ordered the Panela a la Plancha appetizer to start off. It was well dressed in plenty of greens and each square of panela (6 in total) had a generous topping of pesto. The panela was wonderfully seared and the greens as well as the fried shallots complimented each other very well. I'd have ordered another round of this appetizer if my wife would only allow me to indulge. As for our meal, we both got the sliders (one Why You Cryin', and one Quieres Chorizo?). I had mine with onion rings and my wife with the Papas Ricas. The burgers themselves were delicious - the bread, the toppings, and the patty all were top-tier. Regarding the Why You Cryin slider, I was honestly expecting a much stronger spicy punch. I ordered it thinking I'd down my glass of water with it. Don't get me wrong, it was a delicious burger but a bit more heat would've been welcomed. I'm not a high-heat guy (regular buffalo sauce will make me sweat) so this burger was sub-buffalo heat. As for the Quieres Chorizo slider, it definitely delivered. The fact that they use local chorizo is a big plus, and you can definitely taste the freshness of it. I'd love to order the normal size burger next time around. The bread is so fresh, I'd eat it on its own with a tall IPA or even a porter. It was perfectly dense and flavorful. The Papas Ricas are addicting. Give me a big plate of those and I'll finish them all on my own. I won't go into details and let you check them out on your own. But definitely order the Papas Ricas. On the other hand, the Onion Rings, although delicious, are a bit too oily. I had the first one and it blew my mind. I had a second and it was oh so crunchy. Then a third and by the fourth I could feel the oil sort of coating the inside of my mouth. On the next visit, I'm definitely sticking to the Papas Ricas.
SERVICE
Nothing but praise in this category. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, the service was on point. Any time the staff walked by our table, they'd ask if we needed anything and tended to our requests. Our main waiter helped with recommending beers to try and I'm glad I followed his advice. The Temptation French Toast porter was the perfect finish to my dinner. Seriously, in terms of service, nothing less than 5 stars.
AMBIENCE
I really appreciated the astroturf they had in the yard. It kept my shoes clean and the kids were roaming around freely and comfortably. The music was good and the perfect level of upbeat. I don't know if they rotate music genres but it's a thought. We played a few rounds of cornhole on the boards they had on the side, which was cool, although some lighting would be nice in that area since it was pretty dim there. One thing I'd like to mention is that the small school bus has what seems like a prison spotlight on it, pointed right at the picnic tables. Please, please, please remove/replace this light. It's atrocious and very off-putting. I'd recommend running some Christmas/yard lights across from the patio to the buses or something. Anything, just not that spotlight.
All in all, we enjoyed the visit and my friend and I found ourselves talking about it the next day. We're definitely visiting again to try some of the other interesting items on the menu. As it stands, it's an easy 4 out of 5 due to...
Read moreI tried their burgers and loved them. I do not live close, but was in the area today. The last time I was here they did not have the tacos added on the menu yet. I was in Weslaco today and decided to stop by for lunch, I was so excited to try the tacos. But this was a big mistake and a waste of my money. One the tacos are too expensive $6-7 each, which I would be fine with if they were good tacos. These were some of the worst I had. I had the fried fish, goat cheese and beet, salmon, and pork belly. The fillings were good. But the tortilla was awful. It had a horrible taste, was dry in parts, seemed raw in other parts. It tasted stale too. Parts were crunchy, parts were soft. The tortilla ruined the whole tacos. I even just took out the fillings and left the tortillas for most of the tacos.I normally do not write reviews when the food is bad, but this is an exception. If you go here, do not get tacos. Stick to the burgers. When I complained about not liking the tortilla and how it ruined the meal a big muscular guy asked why, defended their quality, and essentially implied that I was wrong. He offered to do nothing to resolve my disappointment. This was a very upsetting experience! Two recommendations: 1) get rid of those nasty tortillas and 2) train staff how to make customers feel satisfied after a...
