Daily Grind is a great casual spot to read or study. It’s not super focused on making the “best” cup of coffee, it’s definitly more of a hub to gather at.

That being said- if it really wants to fully capture the feel it is going for it should change up it’s music and take a more casual approach to employee clothing.

The music that is being played robs the venue of its casual goal and is a few generations behind of its patrons.

The employee uniform should change for the same reasons. Make your employees more human- they aren’t Starbucks workers- they are daily grind employees. They aren’t exactly the most professional to begin with. Which isn’t bad! It makes the shop more accessible.

This is all of course me being nit picky. As it is this is a very accsible and friendly spot. Just a step behind of the casual vibe that they are...

I don't want to dump on this place. This is mostly about taste. We live in a place that takes coffee pretty seriously. The 1 star is just because the coffee is over roasted to the point of being mutilated. I smelled over roasted coffee oils as soon as I walked in. Ordered the pourover to maximize my chances of not tasting burnt but it did. Admittedly it was a miracle the pourover wasn't too bitter. The barista worked magic with those beans, but it didn't taste like coffee. It tasted like charcoal. If you like french or Italian roast and oily beans or you add milk and sugar you may be totally good with it. But if you're looking for a specialty coffee place it may not be for you.

Service wasn't good either. Not rude. Just not good or friendly. As far as we could tell they don't even have glasses....

Today there was 3 people working, 2 women, 1 guy. The women were working on pour over brew, the guy was dragging his feet and told me "i'll be right with you" kind of in an annoyed tone. He wasn't doing much nor moving with purpose, then he heard the store phone ring and sighed like he was irritated he had to work, the place is never super busy yet this lazy guy couldn't handle 2 things at a time, and I was the only person waiting to order.. horrible experience! Get better staff! I like the black ice coffee because of its strength, but I dislike the weak and slow customer service. I might go to Vinny's vintage coffee across the street at the eatery next time, at least he appreciates working, and doesn't have others sabotaging his coffee shop's reputation without professional...

This is probably one of the best coffee shops in the entire valley. It only takes a brief look at their coffee bar to realize the authenticity behind their brewing. Fuse that with the free Wi-Fi, a comfortable outdoor smoking area, numerous activities for kids and families, excellent bathrooms, and a uniquely distinct yet ultra-cozy visual presentation— and you have one of the best examples of a “spot” to chill at. Also, you absolutely cannot take one look at the GM, with his 1920’s steampunk appearance, complete with a curled mustache and overalls, and not think to yourself “this is awesome”. However, you get what you pay for, so this isn’t exactly a budget coffee shop. That’s okay though, I would say the quality necessitates the price.

Ten stars for service. We just sat down, and I have to leave a review already. It's old fashioned, fancy coffee, so I had no idea what to order beyond "vanilla". Adam asked me "hot or cold, coffee or no, foamy or creamy" and we landed on a latte. It's fantastic. Not overly sweet like all the copy/paste "coffee shops." The bagel sandwich is delicious too. The atmosphere is such a vibe, I want to hang out here all day. The music is quiet enough to have a work call. And 10/10 for the mustache, as well. (Oh, AND it has a little play thing for kids, plus a huge shelf of games and even markers and paper. See photo.) I'll be driving from Harlingen to visit again.

I've been visiting this local coffee shop since the year it opened. I'm not a regular and don't visit too often but whenever I go it's just to hang out with friends and chat. The place is spacious and welcoming. The drinks are fairly priced and they have a good variety of everything. It's always clean and homey. Most of the time, the owner is in which is awesome to see because you know he cares about his business. If it weren't a little out of my way, I'd definitely be a regular.
