We came here with our kids on a Monday evening (they have a kids menu posted on their website, so while I realize it is an upscale place, we brought our VERY well behaved kids with us on what we thought would be a slow night for our anniversary). There were 3 occupied tables in the front (including ours), but there was a party in the backroom and only two workers to wait tables and make drinks, so the service was VERY slow to get started. We actually thought of walking out since it took so long for our server to get to us. We were given warm bread with two TINY squirts of butter (smaller that one butter packet combined) and I asked for more butter right off the bat, but we never got it. Our kids devoured the bread, but we were never offered more. Once our order was in, food came out pretty fast, but some things fell short. First, we got a cheese and cracker plate ($18) and were not even told what the cheeses were when it was served. If you are going to offer an artisanal cheese plate, at least tell your patrons what the cheeses are and where they are from. There were also croutons on the plate, which I thought was odd. Why not just provide a toasted baguette or crostini you could actually put cheese on? I added the croutons to my Cesar salad, where they belong. The steaks were good and cooked as requested. My kids ordered the macaroni and cheese (which was excellent) and the chicken breast. The chicken breast came alone on a plate, no sides. I thought for something offered on a kids menu it could have at least had a side (fruit, mashed potatoes, applesauce). Why even have a kids menu if you don't want to cater even a LITTLE BIT to kids or don't want them to come? We ended up splitting the mac and cheese and chicken between our kids, but I just thought the presentation was bizarre for something off a kids menu. Our bill was over $200. We won't be back. The food was good, but nothing wowed us, service was subpar due to lack of servers, and for the cost, there are WAY better places...
Read moreWhen I called to make our reservation, I told the owner it was my son's 10th birthday and he wanted crab legs, so that's why we were choosing this restaurant we have never been to before (party of 6). We get to the restaurant at 1800. Wait for the hostess for 6 minutes to appear and be seated. Our table is in the back room and it is packed. Consider moving to the front but only small tables up there. Hannah was our waitress and was busting her butt. We put our 2-tier birthday cake on the table which clearly reads "Happy 10th Birthday Sterling." There were only 2 waitresses and they were understaffed. Hannah had to act as the bartender as well. Our food order was taken at 1820. We have 3 small kids with us who are starting to ask where the food was at 1900. Hannah overhears and apologizes for the wait. Food comes out at 1930. Crab legs were delicious but my wedge salad had blue cheese dressing and not the ranch I ordered. Fast forward-all steaks were great and prepared as ordered (e.g. medium rare) as well as the crab legs (we each had 4 legs) and rest of salads were good. Dropped almost $500 and 20% tip for Hannah. Overall summary: The wait time from being seated to food ordered to food presented to our table-way too long. Hannah was attentive but seemed rushed and was forgetting things like getting my new wedge salad (had to ask twice for salad to be returned with new salad) with the correct dressing. It would have made our night for staff to at least acknoweledge my son's birthday (he chose your restaurant) but not a word was said. Summary: We will not return because of understaffing and long wait times on food. For the $$ customers drop here, you need to make sure every customer feels special and does not wait lengthy amounts of time for food. Add a bartender as well, to allow the waitresses to focus solely on ordering and...
Read moreIf you have yet to attend this restaurant; you're in for a pleasant treat upon your first visit. My wife and I got together with several friends and had a dinner reservation for 5 people. We were imediately greeted by a lovely hostess and promptly shown to our seats where the place settings were neatly laid out. Our waitress who was very sweet and well mannered presented us with menus, warm fluffy bread, and poured each of us ice water from a glass decanter. For those of you who enjoy a drink, there are a plethora of wines and imported beers, as well as a very elegantly laid out bar with several charismatic barkeepers that have been great conversation during our visits. While taking our order the waitstaff kindly answered questions regarding the menu. We ordered the prushetta as an app, the chicken, salmon, and the dry-aged bone-in ribeye. We were presented with the main dishes after finishing the pruchetta. Each dish was plated beautifully. After dinner Wes Krimmer the chef and owner of the establishment walked out to the dining room in a clean white coat, stopping at our table for a very pleasent conversation. He took the time to give us a tour of the project under way being a wine room, a larger dining ares, and a large outdoor patio where we learned that Mr. Krimmer is not only the man preparing food but also the one responsable for the renovations you see in his establishment. Krimmers has been an exceptional addition to Down...
