Ive been going to this bakery my entire life, and in the past 3 years the quality has gone down hill a lot. Everything used to be amazing, now so much feels dry and cheap. I know ingredients can be expensive these days, but we can taste a difference.
I really dislike the switch from using fresh onions on the onion boards and onion rolls, I used to come here once a week and today I walked in and didn’t even buy anything, nothing looked good.
Not sure what has happened to my favorite bakery over the past few years, but it makes me sad to see the decline. And now I hear Star bakery is closing too, I really hope that diamond bakery can pull itself back together and become the flavorful high quality jewish bakery that it used to be for...

Not just day old- hard as a rock crusty ends that were impossible to chew. Inside bread slices were dry and crumbly. If I wanted day old bread, I would have bought it. I used to buy the rye bread here and it tasted fresh for days after purchase. So I guess, once bitten, twice shy. I was embarrassed that my guests questioned where I got the bread. Read moreLove Diamond Bakery the last 30 years! Literally! Unfortunately, the last few months I have went in there, they do not the same items as before. They used to have these cookies wrapped in jelly (kolakes?) and they do not have them. I asked one of the workers and they said new leadership decided not to make them. Those cookies used to sell like hotcakes on the weekends, and I would purposely be there early just to buy them, that amongst other items they do not carry.. Not the same at all..
