I recently visited Maken Zi Ramen & Rice Bowls and had an incredible dining experience! I ordered the Chicken Curry with extra chicken and the Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl with extra all vegetables, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Chicken Curry was perfectly spiced, with tender chicken and a rich, flavorful sauce that left me savoring every bite. The Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl was equally delightful, with perfectly cooked rice and juicy, flavorful chicken coated in a savory teriyaki glaze. The quality of the food was top-notch, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything was to my liking. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys flavorful and satisfying meals. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

My boyfriend and I went here for our first time last night & it was a great experience! Convenient location; atmosphere was modern, clean & comfortable. The server was super kind and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS!! We got the cream crab croquettes for an app, which were to DIE for & then the spicy tonkatsu ramen/spicy seafood ramen that were both super rich & full of flavour. (I don’t even like seafood & I thought the broth for the seafood ramen was so yummy!) This will definitely be our new go-to ramen spot! I am excited to return & try their other menu items (:

The broth didnt have that richness or depth I expected and the braised pork (which I paid a dollar more for) was so dry and tasteless that it was practically inedible. The noodles were also in this unseparated brick that made eating difficult and messy. The only good thing in the dish was the soft-boiled egg. I also got the peanut sauce wings, which were way too salty. I probably wont go here again, but I will recommend Kinzen in Marlborough instead.

So want to rate 5 stars but there were a couple of critical issues.. got the seafood platter and spicy tonkatsu ramen

Fried squid on platter: something about this, breading idk… it SLICED UP the roof of my mouth and that of my friends too. It’s the day after and my mouth is bleeding. Haven’t had this happen before. Something not right.

Braised pork: extremely dry and flavorless. Paid $1 extra for it expecting it to be superior but it was very disappointing, we did not eat most of it. The ramen deserved better as everything else was amazing.

Everything else had amazing flavor. Drinks were delicious (chrysanthemum tea and lavender milk tea) Ramen had some of the best broth I’ve had in a while and it was a generous serving.

I’ll be back - but I’ll avoid the braised pork and the otherwise delicious squid for fear of...

🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜 Ramen Alert

I'm not going to say that I'm a ramen connoisseur but.... I am. I've had at least 20 different types of ramen restaurants spanning from San Diego, Las Vegas, Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York.

This one passes the test. Spicy Tonkotsu wise....

Perfect amount of spicy (however I would like it more spicy that's just my personal preference) great amount of noodles which were also quite tasty - which can be hard to find sometimes -pork belly was cooked to perfection. I will most likely ask for extra next time.

Will be back to critique more ramen and rice...
