Let's see where to start. First thing first we were traveling from the U.P. and we were looking for a great place to stop and have dinner before we finish heading home. Good ole Google helped us with that and the reviews to your place were amazing and we were very excited to try it out....however that being said it was disaster from the start. First when our party of 9 was arriving we were told we couldn't even sit and have dinner together. Why?? That was a huge disappointment. Second seeing most of the waitresses not even properly wearing their masks was not a good feeling either, I think a couple actually had them on their face properly. If your not going to wear it right there isn't a point at all. When we sat at our separate tables 3 different waitresses came to us and said they would be back. One that dropped our menus and silverware off at the end of the table and walked away ended up being our waitress. My husband passed them out for us. We ordered the kids mac n cheese first and when it came out there were large clumps of cheese and noodles and some noodles plain....do you really have boxed mac n cheese and charge $4.99 and don't include a child's drink?? Moving on... I ordered the southern omelet and our waitress had no clue what it came with or how it was even made. I was told no hashbrowns even though the menu said it came with them. So I asked for my hashbrowns on the side instead of inside. They were so burnt and greasy no way could I eat it. The toast im not even sure when that was made and bathed in butter but that was a hard pass as well, I also would recommend cooking the onions inside the omelet unless this is the way its normally requested. My husband ordered the turkey wrap and a side of French fries.... this is probably worse than my meal even though I didn't think that could be possible. Lunch meat for the turkey okay I can look past that...however the precooked bacon (aka fake bacon) was awful as was the wilted and slimy lettuce in the wrap. The 16 fries he got were nice and soggy more than likely due to the fact that we had to take our food to go because we waited about 45 minutes just for the food. As a matter of fact we got the bill before we even got our food. I did have to go back in for silverware to eat our food on the go and Jordan was kind enough to get that for us. I would like to think that we are decent tippers and appreciate what our waitress does for us and how hard they work to make us happy...however that was not the case with ours. She didn't seem to care about our issues and needs to be more knowledgeable if this is what she is doing for her living right now. So no tip was left. I know not all of this is her fault but she is on the front lines and she is the face we see for this establishment and she needs to know what to do when there legit concerns about service and quality. As of now the review is not good, I hope that one day when we are passing through we can try this again but for now it won't be happening and I would not recommend this...
Read moreFor the past 20 years, our family has enjoyed an up north getaway to celebrate the Fourth of July. One of the favorite traditions is to take our crew to enjoy the up north vibe at Loggers. It’s a tradition that everyone enjoys! Our group has grown over the years: 20 of us this year! We called ahead to be sure they could accommodate our large party. They graciously welcomed us. When we arrived, our table was set up including a reserved sign! Nice touch and we were optimistic that this would be another great experience. Our waitress was attentive and worked extremely hard taking our drink and food orders. One person ordered pizza and was told there wasn’t any pizza dough. What?! Ok, plenty of other options on the menu. Five or six ordered the chicken quesadilla, some ordered burgers. We enjoyed visiting, playing keno and continuing to order drinks while waiting for our food. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for any food to surface. Over an hour+ into our wait, 9 of the 20 had received their food. Some orders were as simple as French fries and onion rings. Eventually, I approached the owner with our dilemma of our extremely long wait asking him to compensate us in some way. After an unprofessional interaction, he did agree to take half off food bills only, still full price for the drinks ordered. In our conversation, he proceeded to blame his wait staff. “The waitress should never have allowed that many people to order quesadillas. We can’t make that many at one time.” But what’s the excuse for not getting a burger and fries and onion rings? If they did not feel they could accommodate our large party, we would have appreciated that honesty when we called ahead. Understandable that 20 people can be overwhelming for a restaurant. If that’s the case, own it. No shame in being honest. Some of us are business owners as well. Intimidation tactics when dealing with customers is not acceptable or appreciated. A simple, sincere apology and a round of drinks goes a long way. Thanks for the discount on the food. Best of luck in the future as you continue to serve...
Read moreFirst of all I would give 0 stars if I could. It was two weeks ago that I was there. I'm not new to eating out and in my younger years even waited tables, so I'm empathetic to their job. However, our waitress (I wish I had a name but she had two braids) was the worse I've ever had. There were five of us and as she was taking our order because there was a hesitation on what someone wanted she turned and left without saying anything, not to get an order for someone which might have been understandable but to take someone's order. Then we waited literally 50 minutes for our food. It was 4 pm, not that busy but we never even mentioned the wait. I ordered the southwest salad. After one bite of dried chicken and looking at the salad I ordered, which on the menu states mixed greens, I refused the salad. I'm sorry, iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, and carrots is not mixed greens, management might want to change the menu wording. Anyone in the culinary business knows or should know what mixed greens are. She took the salad then brought it back telling me she would have to pay for it if I refused it and loudly telling me that is what mixed greens are. I still refused it. The fries were cold and overcooked which were also sent back. She took them, threw the plate on a nearby table. Our whole experience was, to put it mildly, terrible. She was still tipped 20% and more, but everyone agreed it wasn't easy but felt it was the right thing to do. Wow, nice professional response...
