The Serving Cafe — Restaurant in West Branch

As far as small independent owned cafes go, this is a fantastic option. The coffee is great, the service is always friendly, and the food is always tasty.

I only knocked a star off for food because sometimes the dishes can be a little butter-heavy (you need napkins), and it'd be nice if they expanded their offerings of sides. The main dishes are fantastic and the breakfast options are great too. I'd love to see the breakfast burrito be a bit bigger, too.

As far as the atmosphere is concerned, it's always bright and clean, even if seating can feel tight at times. Otherwise, it can be a bit drafty from the HVAC system.

My first time in West Branch, this is easily one of my favorite restaurants!

I got the classic breakfast and upon first bite I felt like I was a kid eating mom's breakfast. The potatoes were perfect. Bacon was nice and crispy, the white toast was heavenly.

But the real game changer for me was the cinnamon roll. I'm a big fella and have had my fair share of cinnamon rolls, but nothing I've ever had comes close to this one! It was so good I went on Zillow and started looking at properties for sale in West Branch!

Great stop! They accommodated our request for grilled cinnamon buns and these were extraordinary! Great feel to the place, lots of light and some open windows, with the town park across the street. Food was very good and reasonably priced. They easily accommodated special requests. The serving time was a bit slower than I would expect at a breakfast place. Appeared to be female owned and run business. The cleanest and best appointed bathroom I’ve been in on the road.
