I went 5 or 6 years ago with my parents on a somewhat disappointing night it was disappointing because we had planned to go to Aponte's another pizza place we've been to for years that's in Mason but they were booked solid so we had driven across town looking for another place that had pizza to eat at and then we found this place! the place was pretty quiet it wasn't so quiet that there hardly wasn't anything going on that evening but it wasn't that busy. it was just me and my parents and a few other people and some little kids and I think one guy at the bar and of course some waiters and waitresses but not a whole lot. we weren't really feeling ourselves since we lost hope at the other place so once we found out that this place was a new york styled pizza place we expected it to be good. the guy at the bar was talking with this one guy and their kids non-stop and I couldn't make out what they were talking about. we sat in the back along a wall towards the back area where the restrooms were we then ordered and it took awhile for them to come back with the pizza so we sat and talked and eventually some time later we got served. the pizza wasn't horrible but it just wasn't the same as the other place but we didn't complain we did leave saying it wasn't anything close to actual new york style pizza and that we would never return. the place looked creepy I don't know if it was because it was past their dinner shifts or it was getting later in the night or if they weren't that busy or if they had the place dimly lit. there was something in the air that night that I would never forget. if I had one thing to say about the place I would most likely say it would be a great set-up for a zombie thing or the many monsters and creepy spooky scary halloweenish looking like things from the show courage the cowardly dog. it felt really creepy that's all I really have to say and it felt like I mean I really don't know how to describe the experience it was kind of on the downbeat side because we lost our chance at going to the other place at like who knows what many miles away and we had to drive throughout the town and then we crossed over some creepy deserted railroad tracks on top of this hill and we went down the road to a different thing and found ourselves going to that place. I should of done this review back when it happened I can't remember it as well as I did right after it occurred I just can't but I...
Read moreFamily wanted to try a new pizza place so we went to Fratelli's on Tylersville Rd (20 min drive 1 way from home). We ordered (2) 18" pizzas (chicken & pineapple and meatball & green peppers) as well as pretzel with beer cheese and mozzarella cheese sticks for appetizers. I'll start with the positive...cheese sticks were pretty good! When I saw the size of the pizza box I was excited to dive in to this "large pizza," but size was all that was going for it. Now for the not good stuff. Pizza did not look appealing at all! Pizza crust was way too thin, hard & chewey! Very scarce amount of toppings, looked as if they just threw them in center of the pizza! And the meatballs, never before have I seen a flat meatball and hope to never again see one either! It looked unappealing and tasted awful! The pretzels had way too much salt and beer cheese was nothing to rave about either. Honestly, only good thing about whole meal was the cheese sticks. Family was still hungry because they did not like the pizza (only had the 1 piece to try it) so I ended up going to buy them some popeyes chicken! This was a carry out order so cannot speak about atmosphere. I will say the ladies working the front counter were pleasant and courteous at checkout. Had high hopes for this place but family agrees...we will NOT give Fratelli's a 2nd chance at ruining our...
Read moreMy daughter was in town for the holidays and wanted to have pizza from either Dewey’s or Fratelli’s while home. Dewey’s was a 2 hour wait for carry out so that made it easy to pick.
While the pizza was good, our order was wrong. I was not the one to go and pick up the order but if I had been I would have checked to make sure that the order was correct. Even so, the pizza would have needed to be remade. We ordered a large white pizza minus the broccoli and with the addition of basil. The broccoli wasn’t on the pizza but neither was the basil. The other pizza was supposed to be pepperoni and mushroom on one half and sausage and green olives on the other half. The side with pepperoni and mushrooms was correct but the other half only had green olives. When ordering on the phone the order was read back the way we ordered it. Also, we were charged as if we received what we ordered.
As I said, the pizza was good. It would have been better, though, if we actually received what we ordered. Those are the details that keep this from being a 5 star review. Additionally, my daughter also left a tip because she said the workers looked busy and were working hard. Next time get the order...
