I typically go off reviews and as many times as I drive by this new gem each day I decided to give it a try. Have had authentic Jamaican food here and abroad and have only been disappointed a few times. Tonight would be one of those times.
I ordered several things from the menu with Jerk Chicken usually being what most Jamaican restaurants in the states would consider a stapled specialty.
Now maybe it's me but the chicken tatsed and chewed like it sat all day and dried itself out. The rice and peas were also dry. Cabbage also tasted as though it had sat all day as well. Mac and cheese, well, it's Mac and cheese... wasn't horrible but wasn't the best. Now I'm unsure if ordering later in the evening was to blame as may have I gotten the end of the day bottom of the pan but I wasn't impressed with the takeout.
I will say, I enjoy these non chain restaurants and I frequent several within a 5 mile radius all which I love. I hope a second visit and maybe dining in changes everything for me because I was super pumped about having an added and unique restaurant in our amazing community. Look forward to a midday visit next time for fall off the bone jerk chicken and moist rice. The coco bread was delicious btw!! ...

The portion sizes are skimp you get get more sides than meat. I bought the $60 food coupon on Groupon , total was $68 then i tipped $12 like the coupon asked.
So for a total of $80 this was the amount of food I got. No it wasnt worth it and I would NEVER pay this much for this portion of food. Its like they are trying to SAVE the meat. Like they take a breast split it in 4 pieces and call that a portion size, very stingy .
Gees Caribbean off of Pippin road is much better !
The oxtails were tough, small and dry and I was super disappointed, no flavor or gravy. The curry chicken sauce was good and the rice and peas was good. The cabbage was cool but the mac and cheese reminded me of stouffers and awful. The loaded fries was decent , but dry my son didnt like them.
I have had better flavored food and portion sizes so yea I have other restaurants to compare to. No i will not be returning, glad I finally tried it. Customer service was cool BUT overall 5/10 experience. The wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf youāre looking for good Jamaican food this is your place!! I was visiting from out of town and was craving Jamaican food and this was one of the places closest to where I was staying so I chose it! I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage with a beef patty and sorrel to drink and it was all delicious 10/10!! Everything was so well seasoned!! The oxtails were so tender and juicy and paired amazing with the cabbage, rice and peas. The beef patty had some spice to it which I love and the crust was so flaky. The sorrel was so good and flavorful, didnāt taste watered down at all. The service was amazing and my food came out pretty fast which is suprisingly because I feel like Jamaican places usually take a little longer but everything tasted fresh! And the ambiance was very chill with some good music in the background. As I was leaving I was suprised to see that they had only been opened for less than 3 months!!! Iām very impressed & if I was from here I would definitely be...
