I've been a regular patron at Cheeba for some time now, and I've always been impressed by their consistency in delivering delicious dishes. However, my recent experience left me thoroughly disappointed.
I ordered their French onion soup, a dish I've enjoyed numerous times before. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the soup was shockingly salty to the point of being inedible. It was a far cry from the flavorful and comforting bowl I've come to expect from Cheeba. This departure from their usual standard was quite disheartening, especially considering I've ordered this dish at least four times before without any issues.
To make matters worse, there was a significant issue with the ingredients in my sandwich. The cucumber slices seemed to have been either improperly cleaned or cleaned with harsh chemicals, as they imparted a rancid, acidic, and chemically taste to the entire sandwich. This unexpected and unpleasant flavor completely ruined my meal experience.
As someone who values the quality and consistency of the food they consume, I felt it necessary to bring attention to these discrepancies in the hope that they can be addressed. I trust that Cheeba will take the necessary steps to ensure that such lapses in quality do not occur in the future, as I would love nothing more than to continue enjoying their delicious offerings without...
Read moreThis sub-restaurant is so nice. First of all, the vibe is great and the restaurant is clean. There is an outdoor seating area that looks pretty fine, but it is definitely better inside. There was a wonderful playlist of music the whole time I was there. The interior is also nice, and they have a lot of decors inside, like every single corner and every part I could see inside has décor in it. Second, they have a friendly and helpful employee. Their employees are so nice and they have good recommendations. Their menu is huge and there are a lot of choices, so a good recommendation from the restaurant's employee is really a good thing. The service is also quick. I went in there and the restaurant was so busy nonetheless, I was still able to order and eat quickly. Last but not least, the sandwiches they have are definitely so good. The sandwich is huge, and the price is reasonable. It tastes fresh and delicious, to the point that I can consider it a must-go-to spot for toasted subs. The French onion soup is also a must-get because it is full of flavor and I like it too. Overall, this restaurant is just great and highly...
Read moreI LOVE CHEBA HUT- and this is one of the top locations in the country. I have now been to 5 Cheba hut locations and this one takes the cake, indubitably.
From the friendly, accommodating staff, to the bangin' sandwiches, to the chill bar with incredible drinks, to the clean, colorful bathrooms (spend enough time at the bar, the bathrooms matter), nobody does it better than Cheba Hut Wicker Park.
As former Wicker Park resident, I'd often partake in the weekly events like Mario Kart, Trivia, and other fun themed nights. Now as a suburbanite, I try to stop in for a Hash Can every time I'm in the city. Weekend or weekday, you can always expect friendly faces, fire sandwiches, and cozy vibes at Cheba Wicker Park.
Thank you guys for not only bringing the Hut to one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago, but for building on and representing the brand better than anyone!!!
