Every now and then my son would get a hankering for the iced coffee. On one previous occasion, he had an upset stomach within an hour of drinking the coffee, a second time there were pieces of something floating in it (not grounds) and he threw it away. I suggested he NOT go back and waste his money on something that makes him sick or he throws away. On October 21, 2024, he walked to the Dunkin Donuts that is located in the Shell station at 823 Western Avenue in Chicago. He texted me that the coffee tasted weird, then sent this picture. He had finished most of it before getting sick and checking what was in the cup. There were disgusting things floating in it, and here is a picture of what was frozen in several of the ice cubes. I wanted him to go back and ask for a refund, but he was sick and was unable and unwilling to leave the house. I emailed their corporate offices on October 22, providing pictures and details, asking only for a refund, which was $4.00. They responded with "great concern," saying they would pass info and details to the owners of the franchise location. We were told to expect a refund and a call right away. Almost a month has passed, and nothing but crickets. I reached out to corporate 2 more times, and gotten NO response. They clearly don't care about their customers getting sick, or wether the equipment in the restaurants is being thoroughly cleaned until someone gets REALLY sick. I usually go to Dark Matter or that other one rhyming with far ducks. I just saw a video on a drink that looked like everything I love, so I figured I’d give it a go. I can’t have dairy so I ordered the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with Almond Milk. My pup was also offered a pup cup! First of all, the customer service was TOP NOTCH. The two woman that were working this morning will make me come back just for how wonderful & sincere they were. The drink was outta this world! I usually never finish all my coffee. I finished it on my walk AND wanted more! These ladies are what’s missing in customer service nowadays. They were personal, friendly, funny, respectful and caring.
