This is a beautiful church, with impressive iconography, theologically correct positioning of icons, a gorgeous hand carved iconostasis and beautiful choirs. They stream their Divine Liturgies. Unfortunately, they only use Ukrainian, so it’s a little more difficult for those who do not know the language, but even so It’s worth a visit for the choir-sung Liturgy. Just immerse yourself in the beauty and the awe of worshiping the Living God in a way that is very reverent, but sung with gusto. Let the Liturgy CARRY you.
If you want to see the church but it’s closed, try the office around the corner at 2245 W. Superior. These folks are rightly proud of their beautiful church and they love to show it to others. There is a DVD available that explains the theology behind the iconography of the church and how its vertical and horizontal dimensions tell the story of Salvation History.
