El Pollo Cris Cris — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I love this place!

On Tuesdays, my family and I will get the pollo asado special which is buy one whole chicken get half for free and it comes with a side order of beans rice and french fries . Also comes with jalapeños & sautéed onions, salsa, y tortillas. This food was enough to feed 5-6 people at my house with possible left overs. The Tuesday special is a really good value for family meals on a budget.

I love getting their torta milanesa de pollo it’s so filling, and can be share-able!!!! Comes with fries and a side of jalapeño and onions.

We’ve also tried their chicken wings, buffalo style with a bone and they’re pretty good. We ended up eating them all with no complaints at home.

We’ve also ordered a hamburger and it comes with fries, jalapeño, and sautéed onions and a can of Coke. We really enjoyed the burger gave us some nostalgic feeling of an old-school burger that isn’t complicated.

We’re also huge fans of their fries on google they say they are called Stealth Fries" or "Lamb Weston Colossal Crisp,” fries which are like the crunchy coating outside of the fry. There was one time that they had just regular plain fries and it did not hit, but I think they had just ran out of their regular fries.

Overall, I really love the food and it’s value. I recommend getting the Pollo asado y tortas.

I can’t wait to try more stuff.

This place was filthy dirty from tables to the floor. You'd think a spill of a drink would call for a clean up right away, nope...not untill the table was needed. Took a long time for the orders to come out and my plate was giving to somebody else that arrived after me ( i did call the waiter out on that, she said " don't worry, another plate is on its way"). Also, the person supposably mopping the floor also helped serve the plates while holding the mop. Place did not look like it was understaffed, just looked like management does not know how to train workers on priorities and efficiency. Also, every time a plate was brought into the small room, the server would go table to table to find out who ordered the plate. And if you ordered 2 plates, you'd receive one plate and then a few others would receive theirs and then you'd receive your second plate. Also, go easy on your drink, it may be a while before you get a chance to order a refill. I learned that the hard way! and the tortillas.....you'll be done with your plate by the time they arrive. You can remind them about the tortillas but does not expedite the process, i tried!! There's more but you can find out...

El Pollo Feliz is great! It sits in the backside of a large parking lot off of 26th Street in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood. This location is a trek from my home neighborhood of River North, but I gladly make the trek as often as I can to enjoy their amazing Parrillada, or as I like to affectionately call it "meat mountain!" El Pollo Feliz is my favorite place in the city to go for authentic, traditional Mexican cuisine. This place is popular, so if you try to go during peak lunch or dinner hours, you'll most likely encounter a wait to be seated. The wait time is never extremely long and their food is completely worth the wait. The prices are very affordable and the menu has a very diverse selection of items to satisfy your hunger! It's a relaxed and casual spot with zero pretension. Additional fun fact: In the same parking lot there is a huge indoor discount mall, full of very affordable items that would cost hundreds more at any of the mainstream stores lining Chicago's premier shopping streets, Michigan Avenue and State Street.
