I am described as a neutered male, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 8 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 06, 2023. My predicted rescue date was Oct 13, 2023 but the date could have changed. Please contact CACC if you are interested in rescuing me. __ Extremely Urgent!!! We need help to get this dog out of Chicago Animal control. He was a lost dog who was picked up in October. He is the sweetest dog who follows commands, like sit, down, he is so smart and loving. He did well meeting other dogs and even a CAT. He is a wonderful dog, would make a great family pet and he shouldn’t be killed. Please share, he is now urgent and we will lose him any day now. He is a volunteer favorite. Please help us to save his life, Poor Raisin deserves to live his life in a nice home. Raisin A264801 __ This Raisin is turning back into a grape. He was so skinny and neglected, Raisin looked older than he probably was. Now with some regular meals and basic care, he is looking younger by the day. Rosalia had a wonderful Doggie Day Out in Jackson Park with two of our shelter volunteers, taking in the views of the future Obama Presidential Library. We never got to share it as she was adopted soon after. Sadly, like too many of our dogs, Rosalia is now back at the shelter. In her brief time in a home, she lived peacefully with both a dog and a cat. Since she’s back, she’s been in playgroup with 5 other dogs, both male & female. Here’s more info her friends learned about her during their day: 🌸sniffs are amazing - must sniff every flower! 🌸every rest stop and photo must end in belly rubs 💁🏼‍♀️ 🌸leisurely walker, does not pull 🌸not bothered by sounds, people, birds, or squirrels (was curious about bikers) 🌸camera shy - wants to look AWAY from the camera at every opportunity, she’s a diva! 🌸absolute sweetheart - wants to be pet all the time! 🩷 Rosalia is an absolute delight! She’s a loving, sensitive soul who thrives on connection, and may need a little time to feel secure when left alone. With patience and a steady routine, she’ll settle beautifully. She just needs someone to show her she’s truly home this time! Bonus: watch until the end to see Rosalia having fun with her playgroup friends! Rosalia is waiting for you at Chicago Animal Care and Control, open 7 days a week from 12-6 pm for adoption showings. If you’re interested in fostering or taking other dogs in a DDO, let us know - we’ll do our best to answer your questions!

After Not Responding to my emails to have my "American Bully" removed From the rear of my premises After he was seemingly agitated, Ate something someone threw over my fenced in Backyard (Probably poisoned him). I took him.in Directly to CACC he nipped/Bit and me and My child. The female security There Told me at 10am they weren't open til 12noon and to take him around to the back. I tied him Up at the front. Went to legally park my vehicle since I couldn't very well leave it in the front by the Entrance. About the time I returned there were (3) cacc Workers one being the female supervisor who was cutting his leash and physically trying to Remove "Al Capone" my Dog at the time in question. Who was very aggigated, and somewhat aggressive and Frail. He was Sick. A female worker in all black WAS very Unruly, Unprofessional and Rude.

The Supervisor told me to listen to her..NOT argue with this Unruly Worker (Who name I didn't get) and let her and the male worker both dressed/Covered in yellow covering and masks. .go inside and "Give my info to the female security guard who initially told me they were closed and go around Back. So I did. I went inside Gave food in cans I had ..the female security told me put it in the Drop bin. They walked Capone in I Gave the security my drivers license she wrote my info down. Ask the "Same VERY Rude female worker dressed In All Black" who was Standing behind a desk across the ROOM from the front desk ..IF that WAS all she needed From "ME" she said "YES"... VERY HARSH and Rudely again And gave a gesture as if shooing Me Away. I then gave the Female Security guard a Folder that pertained ALL of Capone's vital info/Shot record/Chip/Etc. Very Unprofessional that worker across the Room from security. The Female security guard with glasses Said okay ma'am thank u and returned my DL. I left.

Now upon leaving..omw To work. That same RUDE female worker in all Black. Called MY cell phone twice. And said Come back I forgot to tell you to Sign this paper. Mind you I'm on the Kennedy Eway Headed to work. She WAS Rude a, Yelling and VERY Unprofessional! She says she was going to mail me a citation for NOT signing paperwork. YET!!! She told the female Security guard...after I gave Capones records and my Drivers License "She did everything She can Go"! Obviously, She Shooed ME AWAY and told that security officer I was Good...just to turn AROUND and Harass me by calling my personal "Cell phone number Twice on JANUARY 25th...just TO Try and send a Citation!!!!

CACC hires just Anyone old body ...and Then they Lie and DON'T properly Do their Job. And the End Result is "The City/Worker" trying to say I didnt "Sign paperwork". When their WORKER...was Definitely in the WRONG. She gave wrong information and Allowed her emotions to Send ME off. So, I'm going to Also write an email to the Director of CACC and have them Pull the video from JANUARY 25th, 2022 to combat this horrible "ticket/citation" CACC is trying to give me after I Just lost my dog AND they put him to sleep/Euthanized!!

The NERVE of that woman at the front desk and the Supervisor For allowing her to a. Call me Repeatedly and threaten me and b. Send a citation after ALL I went through With losing a Dog I Loved/Cared about that was poisoned and Fell VERY SICK!!!!

SHAME ON the City of Chicago for hiring people THAT don't care or like animals or Have a concern or heart regarding what the OWNER had to endure!!!!!! I will write Mamadou Diakhate ~The Director!!!! ~TINA NORMAN

UPDATE The Citation/Ticket WAS THROWN OUT. I Did NOT fold or bend for the City's Bogus Tactics. I Made AN Written Complaint about the MEAN UNPROFESSIONAL Lady in Black...and The...

Before I adopted my dog from here I made I few trips there to try to get the best fit for me and my lifestyle. I saw 2 dogs that I liked but the first few times I was told either they had already been picked out by someone else that day and to pick another one, then another time it was no later than 4:00 pm and I was told it was to late to get one pup I picked out..so I go back again 2 more times and can't find either two dogs so I believe they really got adopted. On my last trip there I see the dog they told me was already being adopted still there...but she still was my second choice but I finally got her....I stop there again a couple weeks later for a different reason and decided to look at the dogs...WHADDA KNOW - MY FIRST CHOICE DOG IS THERE-the volunteer told me that no one ever even tried to adopt her...I really dislike this place....most volunteers are very nice..it's the paid city staff that totally suck and treat you badly. While there on one visit some one dropped off a few pups in a box...the woman at the front desk asks me (as I'm saying how adorable they are) if I could pick them up and put them in a cage she pointed to. I asked her why she didn't do it and she just screwed up her face and made some sort sound like 'yuck'...they're full of germs". That's the type of staff there is there...they are just city workers doing a job and some don't even like animals...they get good pay and a pension so they stay. Also on each visit I brought treats for the dogs and someone saw me giving one to a dog and called the supervisor who got enraged with me. I saw dogs laying there obviously in distress and some sick looking and asked if they were going to get help only to be told they couldn't do anything for a certain number of days. It enrages me that ppl refuse to spay and neuter their animals...but overall this place could do a much, much better job by these homeless animals. The city of Chicago could TRY to become a NO KILL city....but saving the animals are the last thing on their minds.

To Francisco who put a pic of his pitbull named Panda....it's ppl like you that dump your so-called beloved animals into a system already busting at its seams.....you should be ashamed..once u adopt...

(Would give Zero stars if I could) Was extremely disappointed with the quality of service here. Came in to adopt a dog, spent several hours with a few dogs, found one that we fell in love with, only to be told (after filling out the application truthfully) that we did not currently meet all the required criteria (side note.... Had we just lied on our application, we most likely would have had our dog.... But we're not like that). After speaking with a few people, the lady overseeing the adoption said she couldn't help us that day, but would gurantee the dog would be held for us until 3:30 the next day. Well, we came back the following day, all requirements in tow (children, paperwork, verification), and after waiting an hour just to be seen, were told that our application was never processed, and the dog we were interested in had already been "promised" to a different rescue shelter, and there was absolutely nothing they could do. We were all heart broken, spent the next 2 hours pleading our case to the case manager, asking for the executive director, or anyone that we could explain how unfair and discriminatory they were being, and finally left after they ignored us for another hour. I would not recommend going to this place. Yes, there are opportunities to save dogs from this horrible place, but if you happen to find a quality, loving dog, and want to try to adopt it, just beware that they might pull it right from under you (quite possibly to the highest bidder or "shelter"), and leave you feeling very sad. They seem to feel they know what is better for you and your family, better than you do. There are definitely some very friendly volunteers that seem excited for you to adopt a dog, but others that feel they know everything, and almost try to discourage you from getting certain dogs. There was a beautiful rottweiler that was being evaluated, and the volunteer we were with said something like, " Oh, I bet (insert name here) would take that dog in a second." Everything seems very fishy.... Please, please proceed with caution..... Especially when bringing...
