J & J Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

This is NOT the most welcoming place by far here in Chicago!!!

You will get a better welcome and appreciation for your patronage at ANY gas station rest room!!!

From the run down parking lot, to the weather beaten exterior decor, to the waiting area inside with horrible chairs from an alley... It all screams, "THEY DON'T CARE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once inside, EVERYTHING was behind a huge glass wall, even various slices of cake that was for sale!!!

There was NO GREETING when entering in the door!! One would think, they would show SOME kind of enthusiasm to ANY amount of people entering this dump scam cult of a business!

After ordering, IMMEDIATELY you are expected to give them, a stranger, ALL YOUR TRUST, although it is obvious they have NO TRUST in you or anyone else!!!

Secondly, I say that because, pathetically, you have to slide him whatever method you are using to pay FIRST to the stranger!!!

Whether it is your debit card, credit card or cash, you have to hand it over to HIM, behind the glass! You CANNOT swipe your OWN card when paying!

What makes his swipe different from anyone else's swipe? Oh yeah, the chant being whispered as they touch your card or what was done previously over the equipment!!!

This place is so shady and really should OUTRAGE this community with its subliminal RACISM & ABUSE towards them... Although they still want to pull & siphon the little MONEY flowing throughout this low self-esteemed community to them!!! 😒

So, you are NOT able to see or analyze your food from "wherever" they get it because of the huge glass wall, and the fact it is being prepared in the far back with other orders!

However, I was able to witness that NO ONE was washing their hands or wearing gloves!!! 🧤

MUCH talking in their language was happening, and we all know TINY SPIT PARTICLES uncontrollably fly out of the mouth when talking!!! 🤮 So take 1 guess where they are landing!

The unprofessionalism. The lack of appreciation for my patronage, and how I am unable to witness the preparation of my food or if anything was being chanted or spoken over it was ENOUGH for me!!!

I drove by this place COUNTLESS of times before stopping, and now I probably will drive by indefinitely after this experience!!!

I've never written a review on ANYTHING, let alone a bad one but unfortunately there's a first time for everything. I called in to place an order and asked if they sold rib tips. The employee that answered the phone was very rude and said "no, we don't have rib tips. Why are you calling asking for that? You called here before.". I said, "I haven't called before this is my first time". She gets even ruder and says, "where are you getting this rib tip information from, the internet?" I said no, but if you don't have it then fine let me choose something else. She yells, "hold on" and takes another order. I say,"I'd like the chicken and fish combo. I'm looking at it now on the internet". She says sarcastically," Really? We don't even have a menu on the internet". I tell her that I'm looking at a J&J menu online right now. She says, "you can look but we didn't put it up there". At that point, I was tired of the rudeness and I asked if she was the owner of the store. She answered no. I asked for her name. She replied, "Lisa". I said, "I don't want to order anything. thank you" and hung up. Now, there are other J&J Fish restaurants that I can patronize but that one was specifically recommended to me. I was told that the food there is really good. But if I'm spending my hard earned money, I shouldn't have to be talked down to. I don't need to sacrifice good customer service for a good meal. They should go hand in hand. I definitely hope their calls are monitored and/or recorded because I will be following up...

This place is either a hit or miss, but after having the WORST chicken EVER, I won't be back to this location. Like I said, sometimes you can get lucky and get some chicken wings that tastes amazing! However, most of the time the wings are too tiny or OLD and idk what was going on tonight, but my wings had such a weird taste, I had to spit it out. The catfish is bland, but the catfish fillets were pretty good the last time I had it them. Oh and, a health inspector should pay a visit as well. Lastly, JJ Fish charges way too much for their mediocre food. Done gambling...
