My husband and I went to La Lunita earlier this month and had such an amazing meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which honestly made us order more than we originally planned—but it worked out for the best because everything we tried was delicious.
We started with the yellow fin tuna crudo, esquites, and the grilled oysters. The tuna was so fresh, and the esquites packed with flavor, I usually don’t even like oysters, but these were hands down the best I’ve ever had—the seasoning and spice set the bar so high.
For our main, we shared the bone-in New York steak with a side of broccolini. Both were cooked perfectly, and the sauces really took everything to the next level. We also enjoyed a few cocktails throughout the night, each one unique and delicious.
We finished with the Tres Leches Pastel de Mango with ube ice cream, which was surprisingly light and the perfect sweet ending to such a big meal.
La Lunita delivered on all fronts—food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. 10/10 recommend, and we’ll definitely...
Read moreTale of two stories, interesting flavorful food dragged down by abysmal service.
On a date night, two of us sat down and ordered 6 dishes, expecting the experience to take maybe an hour, hour and a half? Instead, within 10 minutes all 6 dishes were placed on our table all at once. Servers were literally trying to balance dishes on top of other dishes to make it work.
No one acknowledged the issue. We brought it up to the manager, who apologized, but then functionally did nothing to resolve the issue. The server then came over to the table and blamed us! “I didn’t know you would want me to course it out”. Shameful
The saving grace is that the food was actually really good! Prawns flavorful, quesabirria complex. The mole was a tad sweet, but besides that everything was of great flavor
So, our date night was over in 40 minutes and $240 later. Not a single comped dish. This place had potential in the kitchen, but needs to desperately figure out...
Read moreA restaurant cancelled on us an hour before our reservation, so we googled and found La Lunita as a last minute backup plan and we were very fortunate that it was only a few weeks old and had plenty of availability (which I doubt will be a thing in the near future). The cocktails were so thoughtfully constructed, well balanced, and just incredibly enjoyable. The food.. wow. The NY strip melted in our mouths, the guac was incredible, and the esquites (not pictured because we accidentally demolished it before we could snap a pic) were out of this world. The only minor gripe we had was with the chips for the guac and esquites, which were not quite to our liking (texture and flavor wise), but that’s a very minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. We will...
