Pete's Place Restaurant (V&K) — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

My husband was so excited to take me to his favorite breakfast spot he enjoyed so much as a child. I wish this would have been a great experience, a business that employs mostly all African-American staff. Not only did we wait an entire 30 minutes before a server attempted to take our order (shout out to the busser who at least gave us one round of water, no refills but I guess it's the thought that counts?) but the server let us know it would definitely be another 30 minutes for food. I was ready to leave at this point but my husband insisted we wait. I agreed and as we waited a black woman staff very loudly shouted how "people need to know when they come here they have to automatically wait 30 minutes! This woman actually cut her eyes my way and gave me so much attitude. The atmosphere in this place was so disgustingly disrespectful I am currently sitting here taking time out to do this review and our food just arrived. I don't even want to eat it I'm so upset and feel so disrespected. I will never return to this establishment and will wait for the doors to close and it opens up under a new name and new management. I called in a order arrived there about 20 minutes later. They didn't greet me. It took about 15minutes for them to acknowledge me. When he asked me how can I help you I told him I'm picking up my order. He said they're about to start it smh. I go to my car to smoke my wife call me saying they called her and the food is ready. Called this morning about delivery. Said I had to call the delivery guy to see if he delivers in my area. I told them I'm only a few blocks away. Then she said I would have to call him and he was not in yet. WHAT!? So you don't have your own delivery service. Nope. Then why advertise delivery. So I will not be a customer ever again.
